ANXIOUS FOR THE DAWN -- IS IT NORMAL?

Do you like sleeping? I have come to the conclusion that maybe I don't - and I do wonder if there is a name for someone who doesn't like to sleep. I know sleep is necessary and I have no problem falling asleep, but when I check my phone and it says 4a.m. I am happy and relieved - because I know dawn is only two hours away , and I can start my day . After my morning rituals - by 7.30 a.m. I am sitting with my laptop and a cup of coffee or tea. What is your wake up time in the morning - during the week and weekends? Are you usually happy to see the dawn?

I am one of those people who love to sleep, I go to bed around midnight, read till my eyes are closing and then I wake around 9 am naturally, unless I am disturbed, When Tony was on Chemo I did not get to sleep, or not a restful sleep.

I like to be in my bed by nine or ten mainly because I never eat after 6p.m - and I don't want to be tempted. If I don't fall asleep right away, I would watch a movie on television or check my WhatsApp messages.

I am like that too, I am up early, as early as my body tells me to get up. Usually on my days off I'm up earlier then on some work days, just because I am ready to enjoy the day doing what I want to do. On working days I have to be up around 7 to be at work on time.

Sometimes for me evening comes too quickly and there are so many things I would like to get done.

The dawn gives one a positive feeling. I tell myself - here you have a brand new day - try not to mess it up.

Actually I can relate to what you're saying. I was never an early morning person but now when I get up during the early hours I check to see the time and I am happy to note that it is already early morning. Then is I fall asleep again and get up at say 10 I feel that I have slept too much. So I think for awhile I will always set my mobile phone to 9 AM and get up at that time and see how that works. Then with time I can adjust. Enjoy your day.

Its not that I am expecting something exciting that day - I'm just anxious to start the ball rolling. it is raining quite a bit, but I am enjoying the cooler weather.

I too fall asleep easily and wake up earlier than I really want to. I try not to get up too early though since I don't want to wake Anne. I am always glad to see the dawn.

I also look forward to sleep time. After a busy day , I like getting in my comfortable bed, but I am even happier when morning comes. Whether its the weekend or a holiday I never remain in bed after 6 a.m. I was like that even when I held a 9 to 5 job.

@Lizirazo They say "old habits die hard". I started early rising when my son was in Junior high and had the morning shift. I would rise at 5a.m. to get his breakfast - and I have kept that early habit since.

@Kandae11 I'm always up very early when I was working in the office, now that I'm a homemaker, I still get up very early and have to be up as early as 5AM, sometimes even earlier.

Mine is usually 11 or noon, why I like working for your own self, even though it keeps me poor. Money is not everything. I do not think I am a big fan of sleep either, just do it because the body says I need to.

I'm often awake at 4am and then lay there till a more reasonable hour before getting up. Sometimes I do go back to sleep but often I mostly doze on and off till around 6.

You need to have a kitten like mine before you could value sleep! Mama mia, I am tired after having IT for two weeks! (It woke me up every morning at 5 roughly for this or that, with its cold nose: kiss, kiss, nudge, nudge...)

If my body will not feel tired really I will not sleep.Seriously I hate to sleep but because my body demands it I have to.Imagine seeing stars ,enjoying silence of night and in day travelling the world capturing beauty of nature.
