It's almost 9pm and I know Ally has to go out but I thought I'd rather wait a while to make sure the neighborhood is quiet. Halloween means weirdos are riding around lookin fer trouble so I'm not risking my sweet Ally. The kitties are all inside so they are safe. We may not get trick or treaters here but you never know about those that are up to no good. Did you get lottsa trick or treaters?

We have no trick or treaters here, I would be very uncomfortable opening the door in the evening in our days. If I were a parent, I would never let my kids go knocking at unknown people doors. Scary!

That does make sense. It seemed so safe back in the 1960s when mom let us go but I was already 10 or 11 and there were so many of us kids doing the same thing. I don't recall any really small children trick or treating back then, most of us were at least 9 years old. I don't recall any parents with really small children going door to door back then either, most of us were about 9 or older back then.

@rebelann I have the feeling there was more common sense in our days.

Such a pretty feline Miss. We humans went to town to the trick or treater action then came home and treated the fur kids. Some of the fur kids gobbled their treats. Silly Beau Teak acted like hamburger was a new form of a kitty soccer ball.

Over the years I've noticed that some cats don't like beef. Chicken however got them drooling.

It seems not that many parents let their kids go trick or treating anymore.

In El Paso many parents prefer to take their kids to the local schools or churches rather than let them go door to door @Courtlynn I guess it kinda makes sense because parents prefer a safer atmostphere for them. It's kinda sad that people can't be trusted like they used to be.

Yes, many of the hispanic families also celebrate All Saints day, many go to their ancestors graves and have a picnic there.

we don't have kids here. Lily, my black cat, stayed in anyway. I let out today, but she came back in.

I keep my pets indoors on Halloween too, it's just not safe for them outside.

Nope! It's not a much known day here anyway. Not that kids or adults need any reason to find trouble these days

That is a good point but Halloween in some cases just adds fuel to the fire.

I used to have fun helping mom hand out candy but I've never done it here at my home.
