Tax us till we die, then tax us even then too!

Welp, I just got off the phone (30 minutes on hold) with the health insurance marketplace. I am exempt. The lady was talking about the plan that BSBCNC had enrolled me in for next year and how much it would cost. I told her "Yes, but I am exempt for next year, right? I can call and cancel this insurance?" "Yes, you have to call us to cancel it but it will automatically cancel by the end of the year." Uhh... What? Uhm.. Huh? Say what now? Could you repeat that? All I know is that I am exempt for next year, and that I am going to have to make sure that my insurance doesn't roll over. The premium increases next year and if I am flat broke this year, I definitely can't pay an extra $200.00 for next year. We need a better health care plan, and for those who do not want insurance (me) they need to allow us to more easily be exempt and not have to hassle with it every year.

This is surely a problem that should be fixed, people cannot get mad every year.

There is a lot about the politics of the US that needs to be fixed. We have to stop allowing the rich to benefit over us, and basically eat out of our pockets. I dread going through this process every year. The only insurance I want is vision and dental but I do not even go to the doctor anymore.

@ScribbledAdNauseum For what I have read it seems that rich people will have even more benefits. This is not something correct to do.

@LadyDuck I have not followed the tax plan being made right not, not exclusively atleast. From what I have heard though, I agree with you, it will benefit the rich. Sarah Hucklebee Sanders tried to make it seem okay the other day during a press meeting. She had a story about lawyers at a bar...

Why no insurance? What will happen if you're involved in an accident or you get cancer or something?? I am so glad I don't have to worry about this.

I do not qualify for medicaid either, so I guess I am SOL. I can not afford it at any rate. I suppose if I did (hopefully not) ever get cancer then I would qualify for it. I haven't had a wellness check / regular check in years.
