I've been talking about it for a few days now, but here is a sneak peak to the quilt I'm working on. I really, really, really hope I can finish it today! I really want to gift it for the fundraiser this weekend. I'd love honest opinions too. This is like my second lap/baby quilt to ever make. I did work on 4 small doll size ones for practice too. So, yes, I'm very new to this!

Do you mean you are new to quilting? This looks really nice! I like the heart shape too, it's so neat! I always wanted to learn how to do quilt, but I haven't learn it yet. Well, firstly, I need to learn how to use the sewing machine. I am tempted to go and visit my sewing machine now...

@Daelii Yes, I am happymum from Bubblews. I am so glad to meet you here at myLot. I was wondering if you are the same Lionpaw too. It's so nice to be able to turn the t-shirts into bags and pillows. I would like to try that. I actually learned how to sew some simple stuff with machine, but whenever the machine has any issue, I don't know how to fix it and I have to wait for my mom to come over and fix it for me. I am currently turning t-shirts into rug, with a crochet hook. I still have many old t-shirts, so it'd be good if I can make a bag or perhaps pillows too. Well, I need to set a schedule for myself to start using the machine. I have been wanting to sew a doll for my eldest for years.

you should! If you are the same happymum from Bubblews, I remember when you first started crocheting! Sewing is so easy now that I learnt how. It was something I had wanted to do badly. I could turn t-shirts into bags and make pillows, and a few other things. Just very basic and easy stuff by hand. I'm so glad I was given the chance to learn how to sew at a local missionary. Then I was given my own sewing machine and I've been going from there. Trial and error until it comes out okay! So I've been sewing on a machine for a few months now. It was scary at first, but easy now that I'm a bit comfortable doing it!

@kaka135 I'm so with you on the machine issue errors! Mine has been giving me fits with the thread bunching up. So I've been doing things by hand until I can get it looked at!

Thank you! I definitely agree handmade items include a personal touch that lacks in many store bought items!

@Daelii Well done. Sometimes it's surprising what we can achieve when we are put under pressure.
