The Wonder Woman movie earned 800 Million dollars at this moment and Gal Gadot earned only 300 thousand. Tom Cruise and Johnny Depp's more recent movies are flops but they got paid higher. Tom Cruise makes $48 Million per movie despite of his string of flops. The Highest paid Hollywood male star Mark Wahlberg at $68 M per movie. The highest paid actress at this moment is Emma Stone who earns $25 Million per movie. Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan makes $38M per movie, He makes more money than Emma Stone and Jennifer Lawrence! Hollywood kept bragging their more liberal and they are all about equality for women right? There are so many actresses who are box office draws but why are they paid less than the male stars who draws less?

Check in every activity in the world and women are paid less for doing the same job.

There are some countries where men and women are paid equally and only get paid higher for their performance.

Exactly. That is the Hollywood hypocrisy. Just as Hollywood covered for Harvey Weinstein.

Speaking of Weinsten, More executives and producers who are pedos, rapists and power abusers who uses casting couch are being outed.

I think this is the discrimination for women. Actually it may be even available for other jobs. It seems that women earn less than men even if they work the same.

From what I know, Many countries dont have equal pay for women to force women to choose being a stay at home mom. It is an old American law that is not updated until now.

Simple thing, Actors have to "do more", while actress have to "show more".

Even winning awards and being a draw don't seemed to help actresses. The women have to deal with perves like Weinstein. Men have casting couch situation too, Perverted old closeted gay producers.

@yugocean I am starting to think female audience may have something to do with it also. They prefer supporting handsome actors they have crush with instead of a talented actress. Making the men bigger draws in most cases.

@CaptAlbertWhisker this cannot be deny, but this is all about fees charged by actors and actress, they are not salaried.

Even managers women are paid less than their male colleagues. No matter which jobs you check women are paid less. This is not equality.

Philippines may have the most murderous president at this moment but somehow I just realized one thing. Men and women are paid equally there and the highest paid actor there is an actress.

@LadyDuck The pay gap in The Philippines actually favors women and most jobs originally for men pays higher for women. It is actually 7th in the world in Payment equality gap. The discrimination in the Philippines though is against people over 30. Youth is prioritized over experience.

@CaptAlbertWhisker I know very little about salaries in the Philippines, but I remember very well a member here complained that men are paid more than women at her working place.

No matter what they all are paid they make much more than anyone else does. What I think is that it is alright to give big salaries to actors and actresses as long as they put in the hard work and make movies everyone can enjoy.

I still think it is unfair though that women are paid less despite of box office success while men are still paid more despite of multiple flops.

@CaptAlbertWhisker that I agree with must be male domination and of course that should change. I remember reading in the golden days of Hollywood that if an actor or even actress no longer brought in good money to the studio and started making bad movies the studio would put them out to pull themselves together or dropped them entirely. In this case if the male actor in question started making a string of flop he should be dropped. That way the money paid him goes back into the till. I wonder why lesser paid actresses don't just protest and demand bigger pay.

@RasmaSandra Johnny Depp has been flopping for years and it is a head scratcher that he is still paid higher than the top paid actresses.

I believe a well known name earns more money. As they progress in their career, they earn a higher amount. The ones who aren't that well known, earn a lesser amount. Females? I guess they might earn less money, I really don't know why.

Even lesser known guys are paid more than some of the most popular girls. Imagine a Bollywood actor makes more money than Jennifer Lawrence and Rosario Dawson.
