Daylight savings should be abolished!!

Grrrrr
Canada

Ok so the time goes back a hour tonight and I seriously hate it! It's an old old way of life and it's time to get with the "times" literally! I guess I didn't mind it as much when I was younger but now that I have kids, it's a real pain in the ass, it just messes them all up. Also I read that deaths are higher the next day, I read this article on facebook about it. I can't recall it well right now but I will post the link to it after.. if I am allowed :)

Yeah, it is not a good time. Everyone is okay when it ends, because hey! an extra hour of sleep, but when it starts, so many things happen. Unless you are in Arizona...We...we do nothing. It doesn't happen here haha

@DesirousDreamer So how did that town got the Daylight Savings exception? Overall, Day light savings has had both good and bad results.

I hate it too. It takes forever to get adjusted to it. I always keep one clock on the old time so I can remind myself why I feel off schedule for awhile after. I am not surprised that there are more accidents the day after. It doesn't make sense to mess with people's internal clocks twice a year when we don't need to any more

@peavey may be a few off days should be there when switching DST on and off?

I think the rate of accidents goes up when we spring ahead and begin daylight savings. Now we go of daylight savings and get an extra hour of sleep. Me, I love day light savings as I appreciate that extra hour of daylight after work.

I totally agree. It messes up my sleep for days.

I'd love to get rid of it. It made sense to have affordable work days when people literally used candles. Now we live in a 24 hour schedule and some places never close. It's useless!

exactly! I couldn't agree more. There are actually a few places in Ontario, Canada that don't use it anymore! Which makes things even more messed up for them.lol But maybe they are starting a new way that will catch on!

Once there was a proposal to start DST in India, especially in some eastern states. However, it was rejected perhaps owing to its complex implementation and due to the administrative, legal as well as Software related changes.

I hate it also. Why does it need to be dark so early?

It is suppose to give the farmers an extra hour in the summer to work. I have several friends that are farmers and they think it is a stupid idea.

This is being discussed every year but nothing happens. Can you imagine the problems farmers have who have to milk their cows? How can cows understand the time change?

I am totally with you on this! It's an old way of doing things back before the days of technology and electricity. In today's world, it serves absolutely no purpose. People are resistant to change, though, so it would take quite a bit of work to get our lazy, worthless politicians to pass legislation to do away with it.

I think it does not make any difference. It is only our psychological feeling.
