We have several houses on our street for sale, and normally when they are..they stay on the market for months or even years..most people who have the money opt to build their own home if they want to come down here as there are plenty of lots..however, my neighbor two doors down now has a contract pending on his house and it has just been on the market about a month or so!!! Yay! I am defintely going to try to market mine by Feb. at the latest..and I mean it this year! My other neighbor down the street wants 350,000 for his property..which it may be worth that..but I don't see it selling at that price. His has been on the market since June I think.

If you are in the markt to move, go for it! Things are looking better with the market of late.

We had three homes for sale, in our neighborhood, one sold immediately and the other two, about two months after they were listed. Only one was actually vacant, for a short time. The other two were listed, while the family still lived there and when it sold, they moved shortly after.

I have to tell you I am truly surpised that house was sold that fast. I have never seen that here unless they are right on the water. The waterfront places go pretty quickly.

@snowy22315 We live about four blocks from Tawas Lake, both directions. And Lake Huron is about one mile from our home. Real estate is cheaper here, that's why they sell quickly. We live in a tourist town, where people like to retire, after living in the city.

@snowy22315 I apologize, the homes weren't vacant, they were put on the market. Sorry!

May be its prices high so may not be getting a customer to buy. We have recently sold own old house and bought new one.

Winter is not a good time here to sell the house. Spring is the better season, so to place the house for sale by February is a good timing.

There are still plenty of houses for sale here. The problem is that is area is kind of what they call a secondary market because alot of people use their houses here as second homes or retirement homes. We are not very close to anything here but the water.
