Pizza dough fail

It isn't a total bust but it isn't rising enough to make pizza tonight with the dough that I made. The yeast was very active when I bloomed it with a cup of water before I added the rest of the other ingredients. There were tons of bubbles in the liquid which indicated very active yeast and lots of chemical reactions. The dough itself wasn't much risen at all. I think that the kitchen is too cold. Oh well. Maybe we will make this pizza tomorrow. It is homemade with great ingredients, but unfortunately can't perforn on command.

Aww that is a shame. I guess that is how flat bread and pan pizzas were made!

Did you add some sugar to the yeast / water? A cold room will stifle the dough. If you want a guarantee that it will rise, heat your oven up then turn the heat off. Put the bowl in the oven and let it raise.

Good idea. I've never had a fail before before but I like what you are saying.

Whenever I make dough of any kind when it has to rise I put a towel over it and place it in the warmest place possible to rise.

Darn, I'm sorry to hear your dough didn't rise enough, to make pizza! My daughter use to do that, then her family each got some dough, to make their very own personal pan pizza:)
