Tell Me About The Things You Love

Loving our children, our siblings and our parents and good friends, is usually first on the list when we think about PEOPLE we love. However, not everyone feels that way for various reasons that a person just might not want to discuss. So, we won’t go there. I’m actually referring to THINGS or PLACES or ACTVITIES. For example: I LOVE to sing. I have sang since I was a small child. I have sang on many different stages all through school and after that I sang with live bands. I also sang once on TV and in my younger days, I have won many singing contests. More recently, I have been singing at karaoke establishments. Unfortunately, singing has become more difficult for me, now that I’m older. I did sing, with a live band, at my 50th High School reunion and my class mates were surprised and excited, even though they had heard me sing many times before, during our school years. If you would like to hear me sing one song, that was recorded one night at karaoke when I was 73 years old, follow this link. It’s not perfect. I can hear my mistakes but it’s not too bad, considering. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ArRSbY1RGlc I also LOVE to write poetry and I’m a published novelist, having published ONE novel so far. I’m working on two short stories right now, that I hope to publish in one volume. One story is completed and the other is almost finished. I LOVED to travel and have done a lot of it in my lifetime, having visited 25 different countries and 45 U.S. states, including Alaska and Hawaii, but once again, getting older has curtailed my traveling and I am not able to travel like I used to do. As a younger person, I also loved to roller skate and dance and snow ski. There are actually many other things that I loved to do. Coloring is something that I recently decided to do and I’m enjoying that immensely. What about you? What do you love to do?

I LOVE creating art and making crafts. I'm really not that GOOD at it, and I don't do it as often as I should, but I love it when I do it. I love reading. A good book can drag me in and I'm somewhere else for a long time. I love being somewhere else. I love nature. Again its something I don't partake in enough. I love sitting on the edge of a lake and just BEING. I love to write. I love sharing my short fiction with people. I just wish I got more feedback when I shared stuff. I love to laugh and have fun with people. The whole world is so freaking tense right now.

Wonderful! It's nice to consider the things we love to do. It reminds us that there are still many things that can bring some happiness into our lives, despite what is happening in the world around us. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts. I love to read about what others write.

I love to read too. I usually read about 3 or 4 novels per week and I read about a lot of other things, like history and geography and traveling. I love collecting trivia. So, did you actually listen to my song? THANKS!

@suripunj I love Miranda Lambert and her ex-husband, Blake Shelton. Too bad they split up. I will try to suggest some others to you later. George Jones, who has passed away, was an excellent singer and guitar player. He had an outstanding style of singing.

HI Alice! I love writing and learning foreign languages. At present, I am learning a korean language. I spend one to two hours everyday learning vocabulary and grammar in Korean. I have been learning it for a month now and I promise myself I won't stop until I can finally talk in Korean. I know I have a long way to go but I will not give up.

@IreneVincent Thanks Alice, I tried it out but when I changed it to Korean, I no longer see the play button to listen to the text. Writing the Korean alphabet can be memorized within an hour. It is easy. I find Chinese characters more difficult to write. It looks complicated.

I love to read, practice piano, play chess. I used to have a lovely voice, but not anymore due to some problems.

I play the piano also, but I've never learned to play chess. I also have problems with my voice now that I'm older. So, I'm happy that I finally recorded some songs when I still had a reasonably good voice. So sorry that you are having problems. It really frustrates me that I can't sing as well as I used to, because it was one of my favorite things to do.
