More Difficult Than Expected

I had hoped to get a video on Youtube besides the slideshow I put up today but that slideshow was a lot more difficult than I thought it would be. I have Windows 7 on my laptop and Windows Photo Viewer has no pause or back button in full-screen mode. Arrgh! The only thing you can do is click to go forward. I wanted manual control for the length of time each photo would show because I have more to say on some than on others. It took a little help from my 13-year-old technical assistant. We ended up putting all the pictures in Google Chrome and clicking in and out of full-screen while we used OBS to record the whole thing. When that was finished we edited out the garbage in Lightworks saved it back to the computer and then loaded up on Youtube. Whew! Not nearly as smooth and professional as I'd hoped but it did work. I stutter and stammer a lot less when I don't have to be fiddling with the tech while I'm ad-libbing. I will get better at this.

I'm pretty sure you will get better at it. I don't have the patience for that though.

@koopharper I've tried free programs but they're very limited and with my limited patience, I also tend to just give up.

@toniganzon Depends on the programs though. The ones I work with are capable of giving professional results. The main ones are OBS studio, Lightworks and Audacity. The rest is just stuff my Windows 7 on my laptop already has. I can access the older Windows moviemaker through my son's desktop computer. It still works on Windows XP.

I sometimes wonder if I have enough patience. With manual control, it would be very easy to do. I suspect there is a program available that will do what I want but I would have to pay for it. My budget only allows me to use free programs.

@koopharper I would trust you and think that is the most important part. It is actually good a bit awkward right now. People know you really making an effort.

I hope so. Next one is going to be straight up video except for the intro title page. I just have to round up a bit more energy. Might get it done tomorrow if the sun is out. We have some issues with the lighting where we're planning to do it.

I had never heard of hair sticks before. Interesting. Makes perfect sense now.

I always thought it was an Oriental thing with chopsticks. They are similar in size but aren't meant for eating utensils. Apparently, they've been used in almost all cultures everywhere.
