Well, I See No Reason Why These Would Not Make for a Good Breakfast

I went into my husband's office this morning to dust, and I noticed a package of Butterfinger candy bars on his desk. I bet he picked up a discounted package of meant-for-Halloween Butterfingers when he went grocery shopping yesterday. I had not eaten breakfast yet, and those Butterfingers in that package really did look like they would make for a good breakfast. I mean, people have doughnuts for breakfast, pancakes smothered in syrup for breakfast, sugar-filled cereals for breakfast, Pop-Tarts for breakfast and a bunch of other sugar-filled items for their morning meal, so why not Butterfingers?. Butterfinger Ingredients: corn syrup, sugar, ground roasted peanuts, hydrogenated palm kernel oil, cocoa, molasses, and less than 1% of dairy product solids, confectioner's corn flakes, nonfat milk, salt, soy lecithin, soybean oil, cornstarch, natural flavors, monoglycerides, tbhq and citric acid (to preserve freshness), annatto color contains: peanut, milk and soy ingredients. Ingredients in Chocolate Frosted Dunkin' Donut: Enriched Unbleached Wheat Flour (Wheat Flour, Malted Barley Flour, Niacin, Iron as Ferrous Sulfate, Thiamin Mononitrate, Enzyme, Riboflavin, Folic Acid), Palm Oil, Water, Dextrose, Soybean Oil, Whey (a milk derivative), Skim Milk, Yeast, Contains less than 2% of the following: Salt, Leavening (Sodium Acid Pyrophosphate, Baking Soda), Defatted Soy Flour, Wheat Starch, Mono and Diglycerides, Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate, Cellulose Gum, Soy Lecithin, Guar Gum, Xanthan Gum, Artificial Flavor, Sodium Caseinate (a milk derivative), Enzyme, Colored with (Turmeric and Annatto Extracts, Beta Carotene), Eggs; Chocolate Icing: Sugar, Water, Cocoa, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Soybean Oil, Corn Syrup, Contains 2% or less of: Maltodextrin, Dextrose, Corn Starch, Partially Hydrogenated Soybean and/or Cottonseed Oil, Salt, Potassium Sorbate and Sodium Propionate (Preservatives), Soy Lecithin (Emulsifier), Artificial Flavor, Agar. A few Butterfingers sure seem to be less damaging than that Dunkin' Donut with the chocolate glaze! I do wish I had eaten a few of those Butterfingers for breakfast because they sure would have tasted a lot better than the oatmeal, with cinnamon and applesauce mixed in, that I had for breakfast!

At least your breakfast was 100% natural, no artificial ingredients added, so your waistline is safe. Reading all those ingredients of both makes me glad I'm not eating sweets any longer. It's no wonder there is so much obesity in the world, and I'm one of them. I haven't been on any sweets in three months and counting.

My sister and I are no longer eating sweets since sweets make us feel just miserable. If I eat sweets, I am exhausted. I, too, am amazed at the types of unhealthy foods people eat on a regular basis. I remember Mom making pancakes or bacon and eggs for us, but we never put on the weight due to having those foods only now and then. My parents could not afford junk food or sweets, so we benefited. Everyday consumption of unhealthy foods can really cause huge health problems.

@Corbin5 Yes, it can. I don't remember having a lot of sweets growing up, birthdays and holidays mostly. I was also very active as a kid, so there was no way any weight was going to pile on. Not until I went to college at the tender age of 39 when I really piled it on due to sitting all day in a classroom and eating the rich cafeteria food. Now, I'm in a battle, and this time I'm winning.

I have Yoplait yogurt here. I am thinking Yoplait with a crushed Butterfinger just may be a good way to do it.

No way would I eat candy for breakfast or a doughnut except if the latter comes from a bakery 50 minutes from us. I am quite happy that the leftover Halloween candy is long gone, too.

@Corbin5 If you did not enjoy the oatmeal then maybe you should add some fun things you like to eat to it and then maybe you will like it better.

@Corbin5 yes, but i prefer the Kitkat that is hard and could be bitten and munched and crunched. if it is soft, everything turns soft.
