i have this back-and-forth with a bank that's going on for a few weeks now. i feel like switching, or at least having a secondary account with another bank. i should have just followed instructions without question to get it over with sooner. when you give instructions, do you get annoyed when someone asks why and how? what would make you switch banks?

I respect your patience. I would have dropped that bank immediately if I were in your shoes. ;)

I've been with my bank forever, it seems... I see no reason to switch so far, thank goodness... Did you mean the bank gave you instructions and you kept asking questions or was it the other way around?

i provided what they need, but they just give me the "canned" response again and again.

I want the bank employees to be courteous and amiable to the customers. If they are not, I would switch banks. Good thing, my accounts are ATMs , so I seldom go to the bank.

@hereandthere Well as for me, I would really ask again if I didn't get it clearly.

Do you bank in that bank where a Senior Vice President tried and was caught trying to embezzle 900 million Philippine pesos a few months back? They have become quite strict lately.

i had to search first to know which it was. no, i had a payroll account there in the past, but no, it's not that bank. sometimes i get the feeling these things are inside jobs with connivance. you're unlucky if you get caught. you're unlucky if you were made the fall guy.

@hereandthere I have an account there, I noticed they have become very strict, like they no longer allow initial signatures on top of errors when writing a check etc... Even Bdo is becoming strict, my wife banks in bpi and it's more customer friendly.

I would be annoyed if this would happen, but my bank executes the orders without asking anything.

yesterday, i and my sister went to the city to update the time deposit of our late mother. we had the account transferred to our names. i have 2 banks; one is where i can withdraw my MyLot payments, while the other is for my savings account.

Talking about banks is really a big problem to me because I`m very particular with good customer service because It`s our savings money that we save on the line. I like a bank who give good and clear instructions everytime I asked for something and keeps me posted on things that might have changed

Can't believe you still stayed in that bank. I have a very short patience when it comes to banks. I'm used to being treated as a preferred client so when I don't get that same treatment, I would surely switch banks.

It depends on whether the questions are relevant or not, for me. I would switch if their service is bad but so far I've never had to switch to another bank because of that.

When we move in a few months we may be changing banks. There is no branch of our bank close to where we are moving to.

I was with BPI for almost 3 years because of my pension I get with SSS. And 3 months ago, when they have issues, we didn't get anything the full amount of my pension because they said I have issues with wrong account number and what makes us very confuse was, under my name and the wrong account there was 4k money inside it, we asked the BPI bank where is the remaining of my pension. They said we should go back to SSS and ask them myself. Then we went go back and forth from SSS to BPI, BPI to SSS. Until I decided to switch to another bank.

4k is a lot given your medical condition. were you able to receive it, or are you still following it up?

@JustBhem five months is a long time. sss or bpi should tell you what's causing the delay, or if there are other steps you need to do, or any requirements you're lacking.

@hereandthere I am still waiting for the remaining credit I have, and all we did is doing a follow up on SSS and until now, 5 months already I haven't received anything. It makes me wonder if I still can get the remaining balance. And how I would like to complain but how.

That would be annoying. There are banks that lack assistance to customers. I have not switched a bank for our university maintains DPB as a government-affiliated bank. My personal bank is still DPB.

Fortunately, all three of my banks are good and haven't given me any problems. Their customer service has been exceptional. If you are having a problem, I'd take my business elsewhere and let them know why.

I need very clear instructions. If they're not I will ask why and how. I switched banks a couple years ago. They wouldn't work with me to stop a payment before it overdrafted. It was an automatic payment, and I had just lost my job and knew the money wasn't going to be there. They said they couldn't stop the payment, so not only did I have the overdraft fees, they charged me a daily fee on my account. Now I have a good account at a trustworthy bank. No more problems.

Bad service would make me switch banks. Some forget that they have 'customers' who actually keep them in business.
