Heated Exchange from nextdoor neighbor

I am living in a rented house where I can hear conversations outside the house or in the house nextdoor. I often hear a child's cry in the middle of the night or a conversation among neighbors. They were talking about prices going up, etc, etc. Sometimes I feel a little disturbed as their conversation took so long. Despite the noise they made during the night, I feel safe as there are people around me. Have you ever lived in a neighborhood like this? Have you ever heard a heated exchange between two people nextdoor? Image from Pixabay

@Hannihar That also happened in my hometown. I live in a housing complex. The one in the front and nextdoors, when they converse, I could hear exactly what they said.

@yanzalong No it isn't. Also people talk very loud on their cell phones and we can hear the whole one sided conversation which is none of my business.

@yanzalong Yes but we have to understand their situation and just walk around our place from time to time if the special child strikes her tantrums

I live in and end-terrace house, so I have a house attached on one side but not on the other, and since I moved here two years ago I've had four different neighbours. The first one was great, and we're still friends now, but unfortunately she had to move to another city. Since then I've had noisy, inconsiderate neighbours and the most recent ones just seem to be screaming at each other constantly, especially at night! I can sleep through it but if they ever wake my son up then they will most certainly have me to deal with

No never. Even when I lived in a rented apartment, we could not hear what the neighbors said.

@kakah87 You see in this regard, just about everywhere is the same issue. Most neighbors often neglect the feeling of other people, especially nextdoor neighbor. I have the feeling that when they converse via phone, they don't realize that the conversation can be heard by nearby people.

I have once lived with very noisy neighbors, coming home drunk all the time and fighting in the middle of the night with all the noise it was pathetic.

@yanzalong Some landlords take too long to act and you end up moving out. I opted to move out.

Only once. But only because the couple was fighting outside the house and was shouting at each other loudly the whole neighbourhood could hear them.

As long as they are not violent and maybe you should buy some ear plugs to compensate. That's a thing you need to get used to, I hope you don't make enemies with them.

Why don't you use earplugs at night?
Never despise or deride small things. One of the best minds in Italy, a professor of Philosophy at the University of Florence, sees earplugs among the greatest...

@yanzalong We have neighbours, but they are far enough away that they'd really need to be screaming for us to hear their discussions.
