Please Note, that any medical advise should be sought only from a qualified and reliable health professional. This post is just to share experience and should not be considered as medical advise as it consists entirely of only personal opinions. Green tea is only a tea but some may be allergic even to teas. I cannot drink coffee as I am allergic while many of my family and friends have no issue. Today, I found that a friend of mine also has issues with coffee and has switched to green tea and he said that he's enjoying it. We are all different and unique and a wise old proverb states that one person's meat can be another person's poison! While most people can eat peanuts, some can die and have died because of an allergic reaction!!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I keep reading and hearing of the health benefits of green tea. Do you drink it? Have you seen any improvements in your health? Have you found a good brand? I have bought some today to try and will report if I see any personal benefits. Though I think that their are some merit to the positive reports. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The following verses are quoted only because they are interesting but should not be viewed as medical advise! Some leafs of trees and plants can be poisonous and so before you touch and ingest any plant be sure it is safe to do so! Ezekiel 47:12 (King James Version) 12 And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade, neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed: it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because their waters they issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine. Revelation 22:2 (King James Version) 2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

Really? I will soon find out about the taste as I have a cup steeping right now. I have bought two different kinds to see if one tastes better than another. I am quite eager to see how it tastes. Thanks for sharing your experience. Do you still drink in spite of the bad taste? Have you tried putting a little honey in it or stevia which is a natural sweetener?

I heard many good things about it, but never got around to really using it as a health drink. I drink other herbal teas.

@1hopefulman I have lemon grass growing in my yard - also a soursop tree - I make tea with the leaves. Brands I buy would be Roobios , Twinnings and others - I like peppermint, cinnamon and ginger.

I drink it every morning (except on weekends as I drink coffee) . Straight tea - no sweeteners or lemon or anything. I read about the benefits - but those benefits aren't something I "feel" - so I couldn't tell you if it was working or not . I grew up on it (my parents are Japanese) - so I just naturally drink it til this day.

@1hopefulman My parents could tell more about what "authentic" green tea should taste like. My aunt here knows even better as she does Japanese tea ceremonies.

It makes a nice hot or cold beverage! I enjoyed drinking it but it gave me a headache. I may have to try the decaffeinated one.

@KristenH I'm going to continue using what I bought and see if it gets better. Time will tell! The first time I used two bags and it may have been too much. Now I am using one bag a day which makes 2 good cups.

I hope you enjoy the tea.. Just add more water, it is too strong, if you are not used to caffeine.. I hope you can get organic tea..maybe it is more free from pesticides.. And it may be both healthy and taste great it you add some honey..I guess you know the tea should be less than 40C so that the honey stays alive..

@1hopefulman I believe God gave the green leaves for our benefit, and it seems to me that these verses are meant to make us think of the spiritual healing that God has planned for everyone of the mankind who follows his advice..

I quite like it and I sometimes make a red and green tea to give a bit more taste. I never drink more than three cups a day of anything usually as I have cut the sugar way back also. I am not sure about the health benefits it might have. It does have a softer taste that is what I find about it a bit insipid for me. Only my opinion though.

There are many claims about the health benefits and some are from very credible sources and so I will continue to drink a bag a day which can make about two good cups as long as I don't get a negative reaction.
