Cooked Tamarind

Yesterday there was RASAM served at the Restaurant for the Dinner. When the item was being served I noticed that there was some jelly-like thing appeared and I asked the server to wait and observed that it was Tamarind. The cook instead of using Tamarin juice he put the raw tamarind and cooked the dish. It became totally boiled and was horrible for the sight. I like tamarind juice as it gives good taste but I hate to see it when it is used and cooked along with the dish. I went back and avoided the item. So there was no RASAM for the Dinner. Do you like Tamarind? Do you like juice or the cooked Tamarind added to the cooking item?

But, I have tasted other food items. This is one of the other items served for the dinner. So I can not get my money back.

Did you get your money back? Usually if the meal is bad here, they will either not charge you or give you a free dessert.

Others are enjoying this item. It is one of the items served at the Dinner. I had other items. I developed a little bit of aversion for cooked tamarind. That is the problem ..personally do not like it.

I've never tried it. Is it a dish recommended in India? Some day I want to visit there and was wondering which foods to try.

yeah. You are most welcome. I will show you when you tour India. This is one of the food items served along with rice for Dinner, Lunch, or Meals.

That is why I do not like it. If it is not cooked to the proper degree it gives some peculiar unbearable smell.

That looks yummy, that would be a very nice dinner. If this was in the restaurant it might be expensive. I bet the ingredients making one is probably expensive too.

This is not an expensive hotel. A moderate one. But, the items will be quite rich in taste.

I love tamarind juice, we use it in some of our local dishes to give them flavor too.
