Go Paperless, why not?

Yesterday I got a bill in the mail and inside was an offer, if you go paperless you will get a $5 gift card to one of four local restaurants. I have been wanting to do paperless everything for so long because its such a waste to use one envelop to mail the bill, one piece of paper that has the bill printed on it, one piece of paper with tips and a recipe that I will never cook, recently they stopped putting the envelop in to mail your mail . I can look up my bill anytime and if I did not have internet I can call and get the amount owed. I pay my bills the same time each month anyways. Now the company that i wish would go paperless is Alfa insurance, they will mail out this huge envelop with bigger than normal letters with the amount owed. All I need is the renewal policy and that is once every six months. BUT ya know what? when I ask to be paperless they said they are not and cant. Very disappointed. How about you, do you still get all you paper bills in the mail or are you paperless now?

I would have to have a print out for my taxes, but I am sure I can get that.

There are very few bills that we mail, 99% are done on the computer or because we live in a small town, we deliver the payment. A single stamp in Canada is $1.20 mailing to the US. $1.00 for local mail.

@andriaperry Yes but they don't keep the records more than a year in most cases and I like to know more than that, just me.

Wow, that is disappointing. Most companies go paperless now. It helps with the clutter. Telecom uses paperless billings nowadays.

I'm an on line person. Automatic billing for stuff like garbage bills has sure made life easier.

I prefer to mail my bills. I don't think I will ever go paperless. I don't want anyone having access to my checking account.
