We Had a Car Accident

Yesterday as we were headed to the store this jerk in a pick up truck shoved his way into the middle of the road as he saw us along with all the other on coming traffic headed down the road. Instead of waiting to have a clear opening to get in the lane he ran us off the road into the next lane where our front bumper hit the back end of another car. The person we hit stopped and put her hazard lights on, the truck that made this happen was stopped in between our car and the car we hit. As soon as my husband got out of the car to look at damage, the jerk sped off! We exchanged info and had a police officer come to take down a report. Our bumper was hanging off on the corner and our headlight isn't securely held in place anymore. We can't afford to pay to have it fixed so my husband is going to try and rig something up that will work in keeping it together. At this point I am sure something in the Universe is just against us having things go well. So now our insurance will go up and we will probably not really be able to save up to get a place of our own at all. What is better is that the person we hit didn't have anything more then some paint scratched off on their car. Our car was the only one with serious damage and we are at fault. The jerk in the truck sped off without so much as a scratch.
