Fed and Clipped

As I mentioned earlier this week, nobody joined the military expecting all these freebies that the various businesses give us today in honor of Veterans Day. But they are very nice. This morning I got my head de-insulated at Sports Clips. Their motto is, “It’s good to be a guy,” but it’s also good to be a woman who has to go to a guy’s hair stylist to get her hair cut the way she wants it. Anyway, they’re giving free haircuts to veterans today, and I got scalped. (Seriously, I have to stop telling them to “just cut the gray hairs out, or next time I’m going to look like Telly Savalas!) As I type this I’m at Olive Garden, enjoying the soup and salad lunch as part of their free menu for veterans. There are many others who do this, but I want to make sure I give them the publicity for being so gracious to veterans.

If you go the Kojak route, you can look cool at a concert walking around with a Tootsie Pop telling Dale Watson "Who loves you, baby!"

It is certainly no less than you all deserve. I've decided to keep my hair long and I haven't had it cut since May. I had a trim before we went overseas and now we're home I'll have another shortly. It's a good way to save on haircuts though.

I didn't take advantage of any veterans discounts or freebies today. Oh well.
