DIDN'T MEAN TO LAUGH.

Have you ever used the wrong emoticon with a response? A couple of days ago I was responding to a very sad post and instead of clicking on the sad emoticon- I clicked on the happy face - and pressed send. I was so glad that I noticed it in time and quickly edited it - can you imagine if I had sent the laugh emoticon ? with my kind of luck , that would be just the moment when my internet decides to run slow and I can't get through to edit it. I would be blocked by the author of that post for sure. Do you find emoticons useful?

I use them sometimes, but they're so small that it's easy to hit the wrong one.So if I use one that doesn't seem right, please forgive me!

I wasn't quite sure about the meaning of some if them until I wrote a post about it and got that cleared up - I suspect that I do not always use at the most suitable time - and I use it quite a lot.

I use a few to enhance the phrase I have written, but not many and never one: "the rasp", not a nice one.

@Kandae11 I will not either, I am no more a kid and anyway it was not something that my parents tolerated.

Never used it either - and won't be starting to anytime soon.

They can be very useful to express what you are saying but if you use the wrong one without noticing it could cause a misunderstanding.

If you notice - the sad and happy faces are right next to each other in the mylot code - but I'll definitely be more careful in future.

I love the image you used there! Using wrong emoticons, I did a few times and had to change them later (or just get rid of them!).

I do not use the emoticons here as often as I do on Facebook. I do not think I have ever made this mistake here but I know I have on Facebook.

I use them sparingly, for just that reason I am usually speeding along.

Oh yes, I've done it several times. I had others doing the same. I always see that in time and correct myself. Unless I'm drunk, drunk texting doesn't count.

I use some of them some of the time. I was on another site today where when you are commenting you can up or down vote the comment. So I up voted the comment on one of my posts and just before I made my reply my pointer slid and I also down voted the same comment. There was not way to correct the mistake so in my reply I also apologized for doing that.

I recently started using them sometimes. It helps to interpret what you are saying I think. I hope I have not hit the wrong one any time.

I use them quite a bit. It's hard when there is no voice or body language as a sentence might sound a bit harsh but if you can add a smile it is more likely to be taken in the right way.
