But ya gotta give him points for trying. Most of the time Scar will just sit and watch the squirrels...but once in a while, He has to try to get one. He's only been successful once (thankfully) but he does make the effort. Somehow though, it seems they know exactly when He is going to leap and zoom up the tree and gone.

@JolietJake Scar has his own tactics, he wants the fatso to gain more weight..in the process it will lose all flexibility n then Scar can pounce on it...Bingooooo

Does he try to kill them or play with them? That might seem like a stupid question, but my dog Sherlock got into a weird game of tag with a squirrel once. Dude, I'm serious. They went under a car so I leaned down to see what they were doing, and they were sitting side by side, just chillin'.

@JolietJake At least you know you will never have a mouse problem! By the way, when Scar kills something, does he just leave it, or snack on it?

@AmbiePam I take it from him. I try to discourage him from hunting since I feed them, but since it is only natural, I can't punish him for it.

You're lucky he isn't a good hunter, I owned one for 17 years and always got the gift at the front stoop, mostly of mice though. The kitties I have now are not allowed to roam so I don't get those gifts anymore, Thank the Great Spirit.

Not a good hunter? He has killed one squirrel and 5 birds...all while wearing his lead...

Uh oh, didn't know that @JolietJake I guess even a lead can't stop him. Well, at least he didn't get that lil squirrel in the photo.

Our one dog use to chase squirrels. Puffer would chase then up the tree, then fall down on the ground, flat on his back!:) Scar is just target practicing, until the real thing comes along!

Most times he'll just sit and watch, but occasionally the temptation is too much for him

I’m happy that he misses. I bet its more of a “don’t get too comfy, I always could make you move” thing. Your cat is strange though so who knows what he really is thinking.

Poor Scar, but smart squirrel. When we lived in the Condo we always had a squirrel hang on our balcony all the time until one of the neighbor cats kept on trying to swat and get at him to where it scared him.
