No Thanksgiving with family

I'd rather have a Thanksgiving with just my other half than deal with either of our families.

I think you and your husband should just make plans of your own. It's fun to plan a Thanksgiving meal, for three! As for Christmas? Enjoy your day at home, or join some good friends, for an afternoon of enjoyment!

Why didn´t she want you there?

I avoid my family gathers so i would jump for joy if they called me to say that.

I'm sorry she decided not to invite all family to the dinner. Seems rude.

I just don't understand why she would want to do something like that. I agree that I would go ahead and make plans for thanksgiving and Christmas too. Not even waiting for her invite you to Christmas. If she expects the two of you to wait around on her to make the decisions for the holidays then make her think again. and when she tries to make plans with you i'd say Oh we already made plans. sorry.

I am staying home and cooking too, I am tired of dealing with family.

That's so awful of her. When my husband hosted events, he accepted everyone that was family. He never not invited anyone. That didn't mean people that came were nice. I remember being 8 months pregnant and being shunned and insulted by his family at thanksgiving. Then when I was 9 months pregnant having contractions on New years (My baby was due January 1st mind you!) I was yelled at for not doing enough! So.. we did move away to avoid the family drama. Sometimes its really for the best to not have to deal with people who are that rude for holidays.
