Virtual Races/Runs?

November 12, 2017 2:05pm CST
Has anybody heard of these before or given them a go? I have recently signed up for my first virtual race this month....50 miles in November. So far I've managed to complete 17 miles but still have a fair way to go yet. In the past I have entered physical running events which involved training, driving to the event, waiting in line for the dreaded porter-loo then waiting for the starting gun. Nowadays the virtual race seems to give us a lot more freedom. You sign up online, complete the event in your own time, send proof you've completed distance, then they send a medal and certificate. What's your take on this new type of race?

I haven't got the foggiest idea what a virtual race is. Pity that you don't feel like explaining it.

Same for me. I am asking myself how one can win a virtual race if it is possible to split the effort in several parts?

@topffer This is one of the innumerable myLot posts that mention something but tell us nothing.

As we all live in a virtual world now it makes sense. Do you actually run or just think about it? If it's the latter I might think about it.

I've heard of virtual races but haven't joined one yet.

I've heard of them, they sound really fun and an imaginative way to get exercise
