Mylot is such a platform that you could start a discussion about any topic or about yourself or your activities. However, I have observed that some of the mylotters are always in a hurry to respond to more and more posts and they just do not bother to read the contents of some discussions carefully. They would just read the heading/title of a discussion or would focus on a catch word in a discussion and would start writing their response, whatever they feel like. They do not feel like checking again if their response is relevant to the discussion. May be they do not want to comprehend the discussions or they just cannot get what is the focal point of a discussion. Do you read the discussions carefully and try to respond to the core point of discussion or you write whatever you feel like about a discussion? Image courtesy - Google

I always read the discussion thoroughly then respond on it. I normally don't respond if I don't have to say anything after reading a discussion. I have seen people responding irrelevant on the post that is of no use.

It is good to hear Sanjeev that you read a post carefully and only respond, when you have something relevant to say. I feel aghast when some mylotters write irrelevant and meaningness response, while responding a discussion.

I always read the post thoroughly. Sometimes, if it is long and covers several subjects I have to go back to make sure I haven't already been told the answer to a question I might ask.

I know that you read a discussion carefully and would post a relevant response. I agree with you that some of the mylotters start very lengthy discussions, which covers more than one issues. In that case, it gets difficult to frame our precise response.

@JudyEv Once or twice is permissible, it could happen with any of us.. Reading some posts with speed is okay as they might be lengthy.

Yes, it seems that some are just interested in the money. However, I read posts thoroughly and therefore only earn a couple of dollars a month which is fine with me. Sometimes I have been on all day and I thing only a couple of times I have earned 50 cents. Most days it is only a few cents but that's ok.

It is nice to hear that before responding to a post, you read it carefully and you try to focus on the core issue of the discussion. I agree with you that money is not everything and it should be secondary aspect. My earnings also increase at a slow pace because I am not here all the time. However, I do not bother about slow earnings, instead I enjoy myself here, while participating in discussions started by fellow mylotters.

If the information is too long to read, some people may skip certain parts. I normally read the whole thing, because I always pick short articles/posts.

It is wiser on your part that before responding you try to understand the crux of a discussion. Responding a discussion without reading and understanding its contents just does not make any sense.

I always read the discussion before commenting. It's very rude to leave a comment in a hurry without reading, but many do this. You can immediately notice when someone did not read. I wonder if we should start to report those users.

I know it very well that you read the discussions very carefully and focus your response to the core issue of a discussion. You are one of the few mylotters who are always on the dot, be it your responses or comments. It is a great pleasure and fun to interact with you. Yes, many of the mylotters do not read the discussions carefully and just post a response, based on the title of the discussion. I agree with your suggestion that those who do not read a discussion and respond at their whims and fancies should either be reported or their earnings should be deducted for posting irrelevant things.

@LadyDuck Anna you deserve appreciation for your relentless efforts and the way you respond and post your comments. . There are very few who show such a sincerity and commitment on this platform. Therefore, it is always a great pleasure to interact with you. I fully agree with you that posting irrelevant comments on a discussion makes no sense and it could be called a kind of cheating. Having said that some users are incorrigible and we just cannot do much about them.

@dpk262006 Thank you very much for your kind words. I think that posting a silly comment only hoping to make some cents is cheating the site in some sort. I have reported some, because they posted the same comment on each discussion they visited.

Some posts are vague; others are detailed almost to a fault. If I like what I read, or what I have read prompts a question or an observation, I respond or comment. Sometimes a response and comment chain can be at a complete tangent to the original post, which can be quite fun. Other times, I just pass over the post, but tuck into one or more comments on the post. And so it goes.

If you feel so that you do not read a post carefully, in that case you should try to understand a post before responding. If there is any doubt about a post, you could always ask the host to clarify.

@Hannihar Yes, you should not hesitate to ask the host about any doubt in the post. Everyone has different perception, therefore, it is possible you or I may not be able to understand the purpose and main objective of a discussion.

Yes, you are very right that contents of a response clearly reveal whether the respondent has thoroughly read the post. I find many responses off the mark. These responses are such which tell that the respondent has responded just for the sake of it. I know that you read and understand the discussion very carefully before responding.

I read the discussions in full before responding. Just because I do that doesn't mean I understand everything that is being talked about in those discussions. Sometimes if a title of a discussion is a question and I am pressed for time I may just answer what is asked in the title and move on. And I find that there are people that do just that. They will respond to the question in the title and go on their way, even though the question is not the main point of the discussion.

It is good that you read the entire discussion and try your best to understand the crux of the discussions. There may be some discussions which are not very clear and do not reveal what for a host has posted such a discussion. Some users just vent out and in those cases, we just cannot comment much. If you find that you are unable to understand a discussion, if you have time and curiosity, you could ask the host to clarify the main point of the discussion. Those who just respond on the basis of title of a discussion are not doing any justice to the host, themselves and to this platform.

@lovebuglena Yes, posting a question as title of the discussion may fetch more responses but the point is will the responses be relevant to the contents of the discussion? Users just read the question mentioned in the title and immediately start responding and post it. Yes, I agree with you that sometimes we are unable to find an appropriate title for a discussion and we end up with a question, as its title.
@lovebuglena (43074)

@dpk262006 I think posting a question as the title gets more people to respond to a discussion. I've had questions as titles myself. But I think that it may not be the best thing to do because then people just answer the question for the sake of leaving a response and don't actually read the discussion. Sometimes it's hard to come up with a title though so a question as the title seems like a good alternative. But of course when I do that I make sure it's relevant to the discussion. Don't want to mislead readers.
