Good afternoon.I have a great afternoon just hanging out and reading.
What is your take on the three UCLA basketball player who were arrested in
China for shoplifting?
I would not have release them. They were caught shop lifting and should have stayed there to be punish. You do not steal in another country.
I am ashamed of these players. This is my take.
below is more on this from online.

The three UCLA basketball players who were arrested in China for shoplifting last week each individually thanked President Donald Trump for helping bring them home.
In a press conference Wednesday, LiAngelo Ball, Jalen Hill and Cody Riley issued individual apologies after returning to the United States on Tuesday night, a week after being arrested in Hangzhou, China. And as part of their apologies, each player mentioned Trump, who wondered on Twitter earlier Wednesday whether he would receive their thanks.

Your president welcomes shoplifters and bans hardworking people for not having been born in the US

That is so stupid. I can't believe people do such potentially dangerous things in foreign countries. Not every country just sends people to jail or lets them off with a fine. Even trivial crimes can have quite horrific punishments.

That was low of them and an apology for such behaviour simply was not enough. Just because they are American citizens that doesn’t meant they should not be held accountable for their actions in other countries. They should’ve at least served some time, if not in China then in the states

Now that I really think about it, they should have stayed in China and been punished.

It seems people from the US don't think they have to follow rules in other countries @amadeo . Just like the guy who sprayed graffiti on the walls in another country and got publicly whipped and the US went bonkers over it. It is disrespectful what they did and they should have been punished.

You know what? Had they stayed there and something happened to them everyone would have blamed Trump. In this case, I think he probably did the right thing, or at least something that will save him from criticism.

@amadeo I have to go to China quite often for work. It is a beautiful country and there are so many sweet people there who work so hard to make a life for themselves. I hate to see this and think about how it has hurt the people in China. Now they look at the US as a bunch of thieves and if they do something wrong there, they are not held accountable for their mistakes. That the President of the US will stand up and take them home and not even punish them when they arrive home. This is a sad day for the US. I think that they should have stayed in prison in China and served their time there. Then they would think twice about doing this again. They had money and could have easily paid for what they stole. Things in the market aren't that expensive there and there is no reason to steal anything in life.
