Thanksgiving plans have changed yet again

We are now on our THIRD version of plans for Turkey Day. Let's see if these stick, shall we? First it was just going to be my husband and I at my parents' house for a small dinner just the 4 of us as my sister and her family are going to her husband's parents' house. We were fine with that. Then my sister decided that she would do dinner for her family, my parents, my husband, and I at her house on Friday so we could all be together. That was okay too. Now I've been told that we are back to dinner on Thursday but it is at my aunt and uncle's house. It will be them, my parents, my cousin and her husband, and my husband and I. My job is to bring some beer and the mashed potatoes. No word on whether my sister is still doing dinner at her house the following day. I expect this all to change in another couple of days anyway. I can't keep up with it. Someone just call me next Thursday and tell me where to show up, okay?

I hear you. I hope it gets straightened out and finalized. My sister-in-law recently landed a job as a call center last week and started this week. So she'll be working on Thanksgiving. My cousin can't make it as well, depending on her work schedule. I probably won't see her until next month or next spring next year. So it'll be my brother and myself for Thanksgiving... doing Chinese or deli sandwiches like we did two years ago. I won't know until this weekend..

@NJChicaa Did you ever see the Christmas Story classic movie on TBS? Hmm. Well, I'm a quarter-Jewish on my dad's side. And that's another story.... I'll let you know what my brother decides this weekend.

Chinese on Thanksgiving just seems so wrong . . . but that is what the Jewish people in this area do for Christmas so I suppose it is okay for Thanksgiving too.

I'm with you. Staying home and cooking sounds like a good plan. At least we don't have to travel to Asheville to my husband's parents. We did that one year and it was the worst drive I've ever experienced. I wanted to hang myself.
