When is the last time you bought a cookbook?

I honestly haven't bought any cookbooks for ages, one because I have several as in maybe 15, and two because I get almost all my recipes online. However, I went to Ollie's Outlet in Fredericksburg the other day and saw a huge Weight Watchers cookbook for 3.99. It is one of those cool picture cookbooks. I am going back up there on Saturday and will purchase it. Do you buy cookbooks or rely on old recipes and online recipes?

I ordered one on Amazon earlier this week and got one at the thrift store last week. I always check the thrift store.

Yes, I am sure they have many. Ollie's OUtlet is like Big Lots..one step above the thriftshop. I suppose stuff goes there if they can't sell it!

@snowy22315 like Bealls and dirt cheap here. Or Dollar tree. We get all kind of weird books but I've found some good ones too

@thislittlepennyearns one time, although this was several years ago I found an Oprah Winfrey cookbook and fitness guide at Dollar Tree, and a bookstore at the mall had the same one for 26 bucks!

It is funny you mention it. My dad's wife and I were just talking about all the cookbooks we had. Most were my late mom's, and she was going through some of them looking for recipes. Oddly, we found a Twinkie cookbook. We have no idea where it came from because neither she nor my mom ever ate them, and it isn't something we'd buy. I usually look online recipes nowadays, but my favorite cookbook is one that my mom's old church put together and distributed that had all of the recipes from the members of the church.

I have a cookbook that has old fashioned recipes I mean real old fashioned like from maybe the 19th and 18th century that came from a church group I think. One of the recipes supposedly belonged to Martha Washington!

I actually have a Better Homes and Gardens cookbook that belonged to my grandmother. It is kind of neat because it has some of her writing on the recipes.

We get our recipes mostly off the net now but I do have quite a collection of cookbooks. I love the pictures in them and get all enthused till I start reading the ingredients needed and processes involved. It's very fortunate that Vince likes cooking!

Yes, they always sound exciting until you look at the process. I think I am going to make some cheesecake cookies for Christmas though. They look so festive!

The last cookbook, my daughter bought me, about five years ago. It's a gluten-free cookbook. I have so many cookbooks, but enjoy the old recipes I've made for so many years. At times, I get a new recipe online.

I rarely make anything gluten free...but a flourless chocolate cake is awesome. Have you made that?

@kobesbuddy Oh that is too bad! I guess you would need a low sugar flourless chocolate cake!

@snowy22315 No, I have diabetes and celiac disease. So desserts and gluten, aren't good choices.

@BelleStarr I have a friend who collects them, and another one, a former nutritionist who writes them. I am going to have to look on Amazon because I think some of them are available on there.

I love to look through cook books, but love recipes on line also. I wrote a post yesterday (I think) about making a book of all my recipes that I actually cook.

Never. Always used my grandma's old fashioned cookbooks. Love the old fashioned, from scratch recipes although I haven't cooked them in ages. Especially from scratch. Been using the microwave for the past five years.

I believe the last one I bought was one in which had many of my recipes. It was a book produced by the parents of the school in which I taught. I must have about 50 and will ship some to Florida, not that I ever cook. lol
