As totally excited I was to attend to my message box, the excitement dropped and diminished as I gradually read through the malicious and inappropriate scams of these people.
They sent message asking for personal details of my person, to aid in securing the inheritance for their clients, this and that, etcetera.
Hmmmmpppf. Are these people really mylotters?
No, I suppose not.
They joined mylot simply to scam. Double hmmmpf.
Requesting mylot to delete my messages. I do not want to see these messages again.

part of the reason is the default setting for everyone is anyone can private-message you. this discussion by owlwings might help you:

I am sure there was more down the line. I got exhausted. logged out and headed for the car wash. I needed some air. Getting peeved wasn't in my radar any more. I have learned to enjoy people and understand their shortcomings. But those who deliberately malign and scheme malice, I abhor such creatures.
Sorry for the My daughters warned me to direct the anger at the person who deserve it. Never must I make innocent people shock absorbers of my ire.
