Last week my husband learned that he has an insurance policy for critical illness that he forgot he had, or did not know how to use. We have spent the last half hour or so on the phone with company representatives getting the numbers we need to start the claim. It will be a good chunk of money. That will help us since he is out of sick days and has to be off work for two weeks. He also filled out paper work for the family medical leave act today. My brain is totally spinning. I am thankful this policy is in place, and thankful he is doing the paperwork. I did the part of listening on the phone, setting up an online account, etc.He gets to do the rest.

I hope you get it. Sometimes we learn too late of our rights.

I hope he is going to get the money. My husband has the same kind of insurance when he worked.

We understand that when the paperwork is done the claim should proceed quickly.

Try to get the insurance agent to speak to you personally rather than over the phone

Making an insurance claim is mind boggling, for me! All that paperwork, hours of phone messages and long explanations, I can't handle it:( My husband seems to be geared for all these things!
