Coconut oil /VCO is quite expensive and secondly we are not really sure if it's 100% pure, right? I was thinking of making it myself. I've searched a how-to info in the internet bu I want to have the easiest method. Some of you might have tried it yourselves. Glad if you could share it here.

If you like coconut oil, why not make it? It's a lot cheaper than buying ready-to-use coconut oil?

Making coconut oil is not easy. You have to dry out the coconut then you may need the help of a 'mill' to get extracted the oil from the coconut. In home people used to burn the dried coconut to get oil and it used as a medicine. It is good for hair and skin too. If you want pure coconut oil then it is better to get it directly from the 'Mill' where coconut oil gets extracted. In my village, people used to dry the coconut under Sun then for extracting oil they seek the help of the 'Mill'.

@yanzalong Coconut milk and oil is different. Milk I can make myself at home easily. You need coconut and the instruments for grating the same. I do make coconut milk at home.

@Sreekala Of course it's different. From coconut milk you can make coconut oil by fragmentation or boiling.

You can buy the grated coconut flesh in the market. In my city there are sellers offer their service to grate it and squeeze it till you get the milk.

@yanzalong Even if it is less than 100% pure, we do not mind and use it.

You mean you want to buy it rather than making it yourself? Or is it hard to find old coconuts in your home country?
