I think we will eat at home

We stocked up on lots of food before my husband had surgery. He is running around in house slippers and "active wear" pants. No way would he go out in public dressed that way. I am thankful we can eat at home.

He sounds comfy. I do think it is best to take it easy for awhile and just relax.

Good organization there. Let hope your food supply last until your husband gets really well.

Honestly, we might get bored but we could probably go six months without shopping.

We have plenty of food at almost all times. We could probably go for about three months only buying milk, eggs, and bread. I have three turkeys and lots of canned goods and some beef, chicken, etc. Then, of course, we could eat beans.

He had a device that is like a pacemaker but a little fancier put in. It is a defibrillator as well as a pacemaker.

@amadeo It should help. If he goes into Afib it is supposed to shock his heart back to good rhythm. Afib caused the clot that caused his stroke.

That's good, plus eating at home is cheaper and more healthy.

Our food was not as healthy as it could have been but it definitely was less expensive than a burger or such.

His feet and legs would get cold. He is not wearing socks and that is major for him. I will wear some kinds of slippers out. I like them better than flip flops.

@GardenGerty gotcha. I wear slippers and flip flops.. year-round for flipflops. I hate socks and shoes.

@Courtlynn My back hurts if I do not wear athletic shoes most of the time. At work I need to be able to keep up with the kids.

I really do as well. The only advantage to eating out is that someone else does the clean up.

That's good that you planned it before the surgery otherwise it would have been difficult for you to manage.

It feels good to have some things planned out. We almost always have something on hand if I will just think about it.

Yes, it is. I had times as a child when we went hungry. Not starving, but not very much food, so I tend to have lots on hand.

Even little kids say "I wanted to wear my pajamas today". I know that from time to time a class will have a pajama day, but this one little first grader told me this on the bus this week. Bob always looks great.

Me too we are blessed to have sense to stock up on food. How is he doing with the new device?

There were times we went without when I was a child and it has never left me. The new device is "scarring in" as the doc said. Bob is following orders and has that arm in a special sling to immobilize it while it heals so that he does not damage it in any way.
