The Horse evades police, avoids another arrest

The other day, I went to Kaiser to pick up my pain meds. Of course, I went to the patio to check on my green beans and tomatoes. The remaining green beans were fat and gassy (I left them alone), but my cherry tomatoes were red and plump. I gobbled up a dozen or so. Then I noticed some delicious-looking Roma tomatoes to the right. I couldn't remember if I had planted those as well. I harvested about a dozen, put them in my jacket pocket, and then surreptitiously planted some snow pea seeds in the next planter to the right. A nurse must have seen me, because next thing I knew, I was involved in a high speed chase on I-680 South. I evaded the police in my Nissan Xterra, using moves learned in after-school football games in Chicago, and made it home. I have since used some of the Roma tomatoes in salads and am waiting for the last four or so to ripen on my counter. Note: Parts of this post are true.

Tomatoes, Police, Salad You have made a Khichdi of it, more than that of a salad. The Horse is hungry again.

Kaiser Martinez (CA) has these lovely planters near their pharmacy. Sometimes there's stuff planted there and sometimes there isn't. I've Johnny Cornseeded some nice corn, greenbeans, snow peas, and tomatoes out there. The tomatoes are doing well right now. I have severe arthritis in my lower back. If I move, I'm OK. If I don't, the pain is almost like an infected tooth that's ready for root canal.

@TheHorse Ahh, That is some pain. I know back pain but I am not near taking meds. Do others pick the fruits of your labor and their dirt?

@TheHorse I eventually want to plant Roma tomatoes to make sauce with. Will have to wait until we have a large enough spot for a big garden though.

@ElusiveButterfly My tomato plants (on my balcony) are still growing, though it's getting cold out here in the suburbs. I don't know if they'll yield any more tomatoes for me.

Chased by the police for "illegal planting" Not to mention that you harvested "Roma" tomatoes, may be illegal immigrant tomatoes.

I'm surprised you didn't use the tomatoes as missiles against the pursuing police. Of course, that would be a waste of such plump tomatoes!

@Fleura I really like them, and so do the kids I work with. They're sightly sweet. We eat them right off the vine at the preschool.

They're a good Winter "crop" in temperate climates. They can survive a freeze now and then and taste really good. I mostly find them in Chinese food.

Aha, parts are true you say but which parts? My capsicum plants are looking good. Perhaps I should post a photo of them.

I do a lot of illegal planting. I've also been accused, but not convicted, of culturally inappropriate kindness and friendliness.
