Day 30 Jeremiah 30 30:1 The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying, 2 Thus speaks the LORD God of Israel, saying, Write thee all the words that I have spoken unto thee in a book. 3 For, lo, the days come, says the LORD, that I will bring again the captivity of my people Israel and Judah, says the LORD: and I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it. 4 And these are the words that the LORD spoke concerning Israel and concerning Judah. 5 For thus says the LORD; We have heard a voice of trembling, of fear, and not of peace. 6 Ask ye now, and see whether a man doth travail with child? Wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness? 7 Alas! For that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it. 8 For it shall come to pass in that day, says the LORD of hosts, that I will break his yoke from off thy neck, and will burst thy bonds, and strangers shall no more serve themselves of him: 9 But they shall serve the LORD their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up unto them. 10 Therefore fear thou not, O my servant Jacob, says the LORD; neither be dismayed, O Israel: for, lo, I will save thee from afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be in rest, and be quiet, and none shall make him afraid. 11 For I am with thee, says the LORD, to save thee: though I make a full end of all nations whither I have scattered thee, yet will I not make a full end of thee: but I will correct thee in measure, and will not leave thee altogether unpunished. 12 For thus says the LORD, Thy bruise is incurable, and thy wound is grievous. 13 There is none to plead thy cause, that thou may be bound up: thou hast no healing medicines. 14 All thy lovers have forgotten thee; they seek thee not; for I have wounded thee with the wound of an enemy, with the chastisement of a cruel one, for the multitude of thine iniquity; because thy sins were increased. 15 Why cry thou for thine affliction? Thy sorrow is incurable for the multitude of thine iniquity: because thy sins were increased, I have done these things unto thee. 16 Therefore all they that devour thee shall be devoured; and all thine adversaries, every one of them, shall go into captivity; and they that spoil thee shall be a spoil, and all that prey upon thee will I give for a prey. 17 For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, says the LORD; because they called thee an Outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeks after. 18 Thus says the LORD; Behold, I will bring again the captivity of Jacob’s tents, and have mercy on his dwelling places; and the city shall be built upon her own heap, and the palace shall remain after the manner thereof. 19 And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of them that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small. 20 Their children also shall be as aforetime, and their congregation shall be established before me, and I will punish all that oppress them. 21 And their nobles shall be of themselves, and their governor shall proceed from the midst of them; and I will cause him to draw near, and he shall approach unto me: for who is this that engaged his heart to approach unto me? says the LORD. 22 And ye shall be my people, and I will be your God. 23 Behold, the whirlwind of the LORD goes forth with fury, a continuing whirlwind: it shall fall with pain upon the head of the wicked. 24 The fierce anger of the LORD shall not return, until he have done it, and until he have performed the intents of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it. Many times, as children, we believed our parents harsh with the punishment they laid on us. Yet, our punishment was for our benefit and not for our hurt. It was never meant to destroy us, but to perfect us for the times to come, so that we would grow into responsible adults. Throughout scripture, you see God’s hand heavy at times, against his children. However, God told Jeremiah, that when their punishment was complete, he would bring them back from their captivity, and then he would punish all those who came against them. He told Jeremiah to tell the people he would bring a complete end to those people, and he told him when he would do it – in the latter days. Some would consider we are in the latter days. We certainly see many of the signs for the end times fulfilled, but the end isn’t yet, but it is close, on our doorstep as the Word of God reaches out into more people on earth every day. God did fulfill his promise to bring Israel home to their land. His promise was fulfilled in 1948 when Israel came from every nation home to Israel, and became the nation of Israel, recognized by the United Nations. However, not all the nations that have come against them have been destroyed yet. That promise will be fulfilled in the Tribulation. As Christians, we see the chastisement of God when we disobey him. He doesn’t send us into exile, though it can feel that way when everything seems set against us, and nothing goes right. Yet, when we examine ourselves, and determine what we did wrong, and stop blaming everyone or everything else for our unfaithfulness to God, and confess our sin, then God will bring us back into right standing with him. It will feel like he brought us home from our captivity, just as he brought Israel home from their captivity. Israel never wandered from God again, once he brought them home. How about you? Have you been through your wilderness? Have you strayed from God? And have you confessed your sin, and God brought you home, close to his side, with his blessing and favor on you again? If not, examine your life. See where you turned from God, and come back to him, confessing your sin, and repenting your unfaithfulness to God, and God will bring you back into his arms as a loving Father, and will bless you again, and show his favor on your life. Psalm 37:3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. 4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. 5 Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. 6 And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday. 7 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked devices to pass. 8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil. 9 For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth. Let’s pray: Father, you are faithful to your Word and your promises to me. You never failed to keep a single promise to your people. Father, forgive my unfaithfulness to you. Help me examine myself, to see where I failed to be all you want me to be, and bring me back into right standing before you. Help me show your kindness to those around me, and not blame them when things go wrong in my life. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen. It's the blaming of others, as you mentioned, that bothers me. We must take responsibility for our actions.

I did stray a few times, repented and confessed. I am now a firm believer.
