Talented singer and songwriter Mel Tillis, who I would hear his music for many years in my families homes and I don't have a favorite song, as so many of them are great to hear every day. He passed at 85 and had been sick for awhile. I'm not going to list every song and please list some you love to hear. His #1 song I Ain't Never is one I can hear every time in my brother's house. Mel won entertainer of the year in 1976 well deserved. Here are some of his songs The Violet And The Rose, Sawmill, Walk On Boy, State Side, Southern Rains, Neon Rose, New Patches, Loco Weed, and Life Turned Her Away. He was inducted into The Grand Ole Opry on June 9, 2007 by his daughter Pam a country singer. There are 6 children and Pam's brother is a song writer. He was in movies including Smokey and the Bandit 2 and I enjoyed it. Rest in peace you will be missed by so many people.

Although I like country and western I don't recall his name. I'm sure his fans will be sorry he has passed away.

My brothers insisted on going to one of his performances many years ago and at the time if one wanted to go, then big sister was going with them. I was so glad that we went and truly had a wonderful time.

@Fishmomma It's nice to have these memories. Vince saw Roy Orbison in Perth, Western Australia and he was the opening act for Bob Dylan. He still talks about that event.

Tillis was a major country star. Some may recall he had the stuttering issue.

I know who he is, but I wouldn't recognize which ones he sang.

I love the song "I Got the Hoss". It has been ages since I have heard it.
