What --Christmas? It's Moving Right Along!

I must say I'm proud of myself for putting a good dent in the Christmas hill of chores. I've planned my food for our gathering, and bought a few presents. But what I really like is I've made decisions. It's the planning that takes all the energy and a few tossing and turning nights so I am glad I've got a good handle on everything. Because, as you already have experienced probably, it's the knowing what you are going to serve and the knowing what you're going to buy that really takes a lot of stress off. Now, all I need to do is to hire someone to do all the rest of the buying, wrapping and cooking! Lol! Oh well, I'm in a good Christmas mood and so will happily get into 'doing' what needs to be done. I will be putting Christmas decorations up this weekend so that will kick it all off! Right now I'm on a roll but who knows what will happen next week? Think I'll get more energy vitamins at the health store-haha! How are you doing so far? Had my own picture here but it went sideways :( This one is from Pixabay Free Images

You're right about the stressful part being decided what to have and what to buy. Our Christmases are about as quiet as you can get nowadays.

@MarymargII That's sounds fun. Our boys are miles away and there are no grand-children. We usually have a big celebration, relatively speaking, at New Year but that isn't happening this year either. However we think we'll have a party at our own place for New Year.

@JudyEv That's always fun to plan and keeps things hopping. Are your sons in Australia though?

@MarymargII Unfortunately I do not think she will recover. She had an ictus and has fallen on the floor, now she is in coma.

@LadyDuck Now that would be hard to forget each year too. Still the ones left behind must still make the best of it while they are healthy and fine. :)

Oh so sorry to hear this Anna--- Christmas can be a joy but it also can be a sad time for people. But hopefully your mom will pick up and things will improve in time.

I have it so much easier than most folks on Mylot, it's just me and the furmily so all I'm doing is making a stovetop meatloaf that can be shared with the furmily and I'll add what I like after they get their shares. It'll be a good day for sure but not even close to what other folks consider traditional.

I can feel your excitement and expectations. But take the good slice of the cake. At least you are having this feeling of the true essence of Christmas.

You need to make your picture smaller and it will set right. I am planning to put up my decoration this weekend as well and to write my Christmas cards.

@MarymargII I use Paint to resize it, it was already loaded on my PC when I bought it.

@BelleStarr I think the photos I have now are okay on myLot- and you're right I do remember something about Paint and re-sizing. I wrote it down somewhere but have to find it (Need more Fish Oil) ha! However, I think my new phone is okay- that was a pic from last year so will try it out next post. Thanks.

I tried that but couldn't see a spot to edit it on the pic. I just ended up using a Pixabay one. I will check into how to do that a little more and maybe ask my son later. Oh yes, I'm starting the cards very soon to. My fave () job haha!

Yes, it would be nice if I could hire someone to come completely clean my house to where I could feel comfortable with having some people over for dinner, etc. As for gifts we buy gift cards for my husbands mom and step dad and then dad and step mom and then usually something small for ourselves. With not really having my family close around it saves on who we buy for anymore.

It still seems very early to be putting up decorations. I won't be doing a thing until after the 19th December as I'm in Spain till then.

I always put them up mid November as I love to see them for a good while and get in the spirit. It's a big enough job that I like getting the mileage out of it.

It is a very hectic time of year, but sounds like your plan is going along nicely! This quote by President Calvin Coolidge sums up the mood of Christmas and what this holiday meaning is all about..."Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas." Stock up on those vitamins, lol.
