Did you ever see a deer born?

I was working one day and my husband was sitting on a lounge chair in our yard. He heard a noise but didn't see anything. He finally saw a mother deer have a baby right in our yard near him. He was so quiet as he didn't want to scare them so he just watched. We had so many wild animals there and one was prettier than the next. I miss seeing all the wildlife we had in Pennsylvania but I can say I do not miss the deer eating all my plants.

@ramapo17 Indeed it's always awesome. Whenever I heard from my mom that one of the pigs are giving birth I would beg her to bring me with her to watch. And I helped my uncle too.

I have seen other animals give birth, but never a deer. When we lived near the woods in a less populated area of the park, we had many deer visit our backyard. There were other wildlife that came to visit as well. Rabbits seemed to love my hostas, but never the deer. I wish they would come and eat the ugly plants that we have around here though!

@ramapo17 I have heard of many people just calling it quits and planting something that the deer didn't care for.

I had a battle with the deer and my hostas. It became a game as they always won.

It really is amazing. Do you see any by you? Like a kangaroo or one of those cuddly beautiful bears?

@ramapo17 We don't have koalas in West Australia - only in zoos and perhaps wildlife parks. And kangaroos are very secretive about giving birth. The joeys are the size of jellybean to begin with and have to claw their way up the doe's tummy and get themselves into the pouch.

Horses always amazed me when giving birth. It is so beautiful. I have seen that on tv but never in person even though I use to ride every week.

@ramapo17 I feel that a deer giving birth and a horse giving birth would look similar. My college is in the mountains and I have a friend I sometimes spend the night with on top of one of the mountains and up there the deer are really friendly. There is a small family that lives in the woods and in the yard near his house and the mother dear is currently pregnant again. Maybe if I am lucky she will give birth when I am visiting him and we'll get to see a baby deer.

That's amazing. I live in the city and therefore it is not possible for me to see the animals except for cats and dogs.

I have heard a dog give birth ages ago and that was about it. All the rest I have seen on the Television. How wonderful to see something like that. I would be in awe watching it for real. I once saw a baby lamb just born and still wet with the liquid still on it and the Shepherd had him or her in his hands cleaning it up as they continued walking the paths they usually take and Deer are very well protected here that is for sure and we can get fined if a Deer jumps across the Road and we don´t swerve to miss it which I think is quite silly because you don´t want to hit the deer but you don´t want to hurt anyone else either.
