Do you know this wild fruit?

I found this kind of fruit in my backyard. It grows wild in the bushes by crawling. It bears some fruits. The fruit is small and yellow color. I've tried it a little, and it tastes good, that is a mixture of sweet and sour taste. The fruit has many seeds as you can see in the picture. Well, I don't know if this fruit has powerful benefit for health or not. But I think it is edible as I noticed there were some ants enjoying the fruit. Do you know what fruit is it?

Passion fruit flower
Does it have beautiful flowers before the fruit begins to form? If so it is passion fruit which is very tasty ..I have given a picture of the flower.

Yes, it does. Looks like the one in your picture. But the size is much smaller, just like the size of jasmine flower.

Oh yes! We call that fruit Kurumbot. It's sweet & a bit sour. When I was still very young, my playmates & I look for those fruits in the forest. We ate a lot of that (or bring home more), before we separate ways & retire for the night. Kurumbot brings a lot of happy memories of my childhood!

it's because we don't have a wide variety of fruits here in metro manila. and from the responses of other filipino mylotters, it seems to be available in luzon, visayas and mindanao.

Yes, that's fruit is edible and it has a very good taste. Its sweetness and sourness blends. When we were children, we always look for that among the grasses or shrubs. In our place , we always find that along the seashore.
