Power Outage for Two Hours, This Morning

I'm so use to flicking on a light-switch, when entering into a room. Gosh, that's a helpless feeling, whenever the power goes out! We have become so dependent upon electricity, almost every minute of the day. I was logged into My Lot and reading a few discussion, when suddenly the monitor went blank and our desk-top computer shut down. I hate to admit to this, for a few minutes I was in a panic, wondering what to do. Even my telephone is hooked up to the Cable connection, so I couldn't call and report this to Consumer's Energy. Our neighbor man was out beside the road, getting their mail our of the box. Al assured me that he had reported this power-out, about five minutes earlier. Thank heavens, for Al's cell-phone

9 people in my neighborhood lost power for 2 hours Saturday during high wind from a tree branch getting knocked down. I wasn't really worried about losing the 'net for a bit, but then again, I couldn't play any music, and it was overcast so I couldn't even read until I dug out a propane lantern to see with.

It seemed kinda weird, going from room to room flicking a light switch, out of habit:( Our house got pretty cold, because I hadn't turned the furnace up yet. I sure take a lot of things for granted! @JolietJake

@toniganzon 3-6AM isn't too bad, if the power is back on for the rest of the day.

By now, everything is dependent on electric power. Not even list all electrical devices, it would be a really long list! I have to say this, sometimes it has also happened to me. Fortunately, always solved by resetting the main power switch.

If it's just our home, it's easy to fix. If it's interference from outside sources, it takes a lot longer.

@kobesbuddy Indeed. They wanted to make a meeting to change him. But after all, another, it would not be much different! Many people complain about their administrators! Probably, they will give him just another chanche

I panic when there is a power outage too!! We are fortunate that the outages do not last for a long period of time.

I get really annoyed when electricity goes out. It is the worst with extremely hot or cold weather. I guess I should stock up on batteries

When that happens I light candles and, if it's light enough outside, try to read. Or just sit in the dark and wait for the power to come back on. My cell's not hooked to the cable, but when the power goes down I can't get on the 'net, because I have to tap into our Wi-Fi. But I can read on my kindle app (assuming my battery's not too low) and still make calls or text.

Our power seems to fail fairly regularly on our street. Usually by the time we have connected to data someone else in the neighbourhood had already reported the problem.

We have a cable phone but it's only for business use. We mostly use our cell phones which i'm grateful for especially during outages so we have it for emergencies. Glad it wasn't on the whole day and was back within a few hours
