Favorite "Dream" Songs #1 - "Dreaming"

It seems shorter, but it was ten days ago that I started this countdown of songs with "dream" in the title. We have reached #1: "Dreaming" by Rock and Roll Hall of Famers, Blondie. The first single from Blondie's 1979 album, Eat to the Beat, "Dreaming" was written by vocalist Debbie Harry (lyrics) and guitarist Chris Stein (music.) The very drum-heavy song was recorded live in the studio, and is, according to Chris Stein, a copy of ABBA's "Dancing Queen." "Dreaming" was an international hit, reaching #2 in the UK, and #27 on the Billboard Hot 100. Counting the US and UK, the song charted in 15 countries. "Dreaming" has been covered both live and on record numerous times, notably by Smashing Pumpkins, Yo La Tengo, The Posies, and in Matthew Sweet and Susanna Hoffs' series of decade-specific cover albums.
