JJ is right, the article is not about food wasted on the Thanksgiving, but the food wasted due to the "sell by" date.

I had some point edited it. It's how the food being wasted by any occasion and it is point of how thanksgiving be held in due consideration to such appalling stats on food wastage that cost so much rather than to be used wisely.

@dodoazo The food that is on its due day here is given to charities to prepare food for homeless. If it's expired but this good, the animal shelters collect the food to give to the animals.

This isn't actually about food wasted during Thanksgiving, it is about food being thrown out because of the 'sell by' date even though the food is still edible.

I think it happens to rich countries too. They have many money to spend on food and they overspend and cook a lot of food they cannot consume all

Every country has also wasting foods. Take for instance this fastfoods joints, resto, and other food sellers. However, a group of concerned business entities and other interested agencies conducted this analyses as far as business is concerned

That's life. That's reality. In the highly urbanized city at the back of it or behind of such progress are poor people living on utter poverty.
