Watch out what you say at parties, because everyday conversations could become titles for songs, as in the case of A Whiter Shade of Pale. Keith Reid heard a woman say to someone, "You're turned a whiter shade of pale." He knew this was his new song title.
I thought the meaning of the lyrics had more to do with touring, but apparently it's about the ending of a relationship.
This music is 50 years old, but still has a unique sound after all these years.
I made a video for this post, using the artwork of Marcello Bacciarelli, and combined his paintings with the music.
I thought his subjects looked extremely pale, and decided the art and song would fit perfectly together. Now, I'm not so sure.
What do you think about the song?
Marcello Bacciarelli was a painter who mainly created portraits for royalty in Poland. I love the Father gazing lovingly at his daughter. I know I went a lit...

Haunting is actually a good word to describe it, plus it's a little sad.

I also like the song "Conquistador." Whiter Shade was a huge hit during the 1967 Summer of Love. Classic!!!!

@misunderstood_zombie I have to agree with you! Sometimes lightening in a bottle only strikes a couple of times for artists. Still, better than the many who had only one or none...

I really like that song also, but I don't think there are any others I really love besides these two.
