Spam Is Over 80 Years Old! Do You Know The Story?

United States

After thinking about the bizarre little can of meat, I stumbled upon the history of that little meat. Have you ever wondered how and why it came into being? Below is a video that tells it's story. From it's birth on July 5, 1937 to today! Thank you Austin, Minnesota for giving us Spam!
You can grill it, fry it, or eat it right out of the can: Spam. For over 80 years the salty canned meat has been feeding America. From its start in a small Minnesota town to its global presence today, here’s the origins of Spam’s flavorful history.

@Susan2015 Caned, shelf stable meat tends to last a long time! Some of it may actually be 80 years old! LOL

@jstory07 It certainly has been! Apparently it was a main staple for the troops during WWII!

This is another product I really miss. How I enjoyed Spam sandwiches, in casseroles and so on. We can get something that is known as pressed meat here kind of similar to Spam but at over 7 Euro a pound I don't purchase it. Did see they have my favorite SPAM on Amazon do you think they would ship to Latvia?
