24 hours of shopping!!

I have blisters on my feet and a nasty ache in my back... but I have finished all of my Christmas shopping.. even the stocking stuffers! Today in the States was what they call Black Friday. It's a day the stores have really big sales to encourage people to shop till they drop, which is exactly what I've been doing for the past 24 hours. Unfortunately a lot of stores will start their sales on Thursday night, which is Thanksgiving.. But we were done eating early enough so we headed out to see what sort of sales were going on. We didn't have anything in particular in mind. All the big stuff was purchased online because we weren't sure the stores would still have it and we didn't want to fight a crowd to make sure we got something we really wanted.. So we waited until after the store was already open and just wandered around to see if anything good was on sale. We were out from about 5pm until 11pm last night, and this morning I went out at 10am and didn't finish up until about 8pm. But it feels really good to have all my Christmas shopping done for my 5 kids and all their little friends that they exchange gifts with. And I didn't spend a whole ton of money either... I even got myself a couple little things because the prices were so good. I have some new boots and towels that I found on sale. Do you like to get your shopping done early? Do you enjoy Christmas shopping as much as I do?

Some stores even took part in Black Friday a day ahead from Thanksgiving ! And lots of the sales were going live online. :) I went this morning but the item I bought wasn't on sale one bit, lol ! Then, I picked up some online orders at the mall.

@infatuatedbby I did.. and my shopping continued yesterday.. even though I'm done, My son had to go to the mall for a date with his girlfriend, and I wandered around and bought a couple more things. Then his girlfriend gave him the exact same soccer jersey we'd already bought him, so now I have to return the one we bought and find him something else.

Yes there is a toy store that starts their sales a week early. We went out there last weekend and grabbed some stuff.

@gibocam I save all year for Christmas, and this year hubby got a nice bonus the day before Thanksgiving so that helped.

I do Black Friday every year. Some years I'm standing in line waiting for the store to open, other years I just go later and see if I can find some left over bargains. Last year we bought a couple TVs so we were there an hour before the store opened standing in line.

I do enjoy Christmas, but it can also be stressful if you don't have much money and the kids are expecting presents from Santa. We got lucky this year and hubby got a big bonus the day before Thanksgiving, so we made sure to finish all our shopping so we could just enjoy the rest of the season.

@Happy2BeMe We've actually been expecting this money since October. Had it come sooner we'd have paid off some bills... instead it came just in time to be spent for Christmas, which I guess is a good thing so then we aren't going into further debt trying to finish Christmas shopping, LOL.

Wow, you got all your shopping done quickly! I think too much and take too long. I've gotten a lot of it done, but still have much to do. I at least got gifts for friends I'm seeing in the next week . . . I wrapped and such last night - they are done. I got the various teachers/instructors gifts - that's done. But now I need to do family! I love shopping period . . . I love Christmas shopping but only when I go at a good time and there aren't huge crowds and lines.

I only shop for my kids pretty much so that makes things easy. Everything else is usually minor last minute stuff. I get teachers/instructors etc gift cards to the coffee place.. then the kids have to pick out little gifts for their friends. My daughter is making her gifts for her friends this year

I would like to get my shopping done early - but it always remain a wishful thinking on my part. I do not have a long list of christmas shopping to begin with, and yet I always struggle with my shopping. I have managed to order some sale items online, some even for myself. But I am the first one to admit that I am far from being done. Hopefully I will still have a chance to do this come cyber Monday. Otherwise, I will have to watch out for other sales in the next coming days. I congratulate you for managing to finish your christmas shopping this early. That was quite an accomplishment!

I never understood the Cyber Monday thing.. I've never seen any crazy sales that seemed worth it. Although most places will honor their Black Friday sale prices online on Friday.
