I voted for him. Our son now has a fabulous job in which he can use his skills he acquired when he earned that B.S. in economics, and an MBA in finance/marketing. Under Obama, our son struggled so and was laid off far too many times, but now, things are good. I voted for Trump for that reason, and our son is proof my husband and I voted for the one who could help our son. I am pleased.

@amadeo We are. I do believe the Trump voters were the parents of millennials who could not find a job no matter how hard they tried during Obama's administration and also the grandparents of those millennials. Seeing loved ones struggle so hard, lose jobs or being laid off time after time was from where a lot of those Trump votes came.

@JolietJake Oh, ok. I was just reading that he tweeted that he turned the offer to be person of the year down, when in fact it was only said that he would "probably" get it.

No he is not. Time does not announce Person of the Year until December 6th. Trump tweeted some Baloney about being chosen, but I will lay odds he is not the one.

Indeed, the whole thing is a hoax. But he still could have been elected, if he hadn't bragged about it upfront.

Popularity allows some to be seen often. If the President is pleased with the matters then oh not sure how he's going to solve the many injustices.

Hitler (1938), Stalin (1939 + 1942), Khrushchev (1957), and Khomeini (1979): these were all person of the year too. I'm not sure I'd like to add my name to the list.
@ourlot (1013)

Notice that person (not man, but person) of the year is not a kind of recognition for his work. It's just the realization that he's central for the event of the year. In this sense, I agree that Trump is person of the year.

How did that happen, did they get the least votes mixed up with the most votes? I'm surely not a fan, sorry.
