Can you help me with our next YouTube video?

As some of you know, I like to record songs in my friend's garage studio and post them to YouTube. MyLot members Vanny and DJ have been doing all of the technical work: I just send them a recording and some pictures, and they do all the rest. We're currently working on a song that has the lyrics "and then a little harmony's all it takes to get you high." We're trying to find the perfect picture for that line. Originally, I requested a picture of the Wailin' Jennies, a favorite singing group of mine, but we later agreed that the picture would not be recognized by most listeners. We ultimately decided on Crosby Stills and Nash, since they'll be recognized by most Americans (and others) over 40 or so. But which picture to use? I'm leaning toward the album cover from their award-winning first album, but we're also considering a more casual black and white photo from with internet. I'll attach that one in a comment. Can you help us decide? I'll link a song we've already done. Leave a like and a comment on it if you do indeed like it. I'll use the album cover from Crosby Stills and Nash's first album as my photo for this post. Does it make you feel warm and fuzzy? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a4hEv_RWI6c&t=2s

First off, feel free to DM me details of your YouTube channel so I can subscribe to it. Love to support the other endeavors of my fellow myLotters. As for the photo, I'm going with the album cover.

@allen0187 Let me know if you "subscribe." I think we're at 41 now, so you'll be #42. I do appreciate the help.

I agree with you. It will be recognizable to anyone who was alive in that era or likes folk music. I think you can visit any of my/our songs on YouTube and subscribe/leave comments. I am really thankful to Vanny and DJ for what they've done. I'm not tech-savvy enough to do it myself.

Crosby Stills and Nash do convey the feeling of warm and fuzzy, especially siting on a couch in front of an old house, and they are very recognizable.

Thanks for the feedback, Felix. I think I'm going to lobby Vanny to use this image for those lyrics.

Your style reminds me of J J Cale. Good song. But why use Cosby, Stills & Nash as a cover? Wouldn't it be better to have you (I'm assuming you're the singer) playing guitar with a watermark of Twain?

Oh, Thanks! I always liked J.J. Cale. I would describe him as "chill" and understated. Oh, we're not going to use Crosby Stills and Nash as the lead picture. It will be one of many displayed during the song. When I think of harmony, they're who comes to mind.

I guess JJ just wasn't that well known was he @TheHorse I never would have put CSN in with that song, Cale yes because he his style was understated and smooth. Maybe Harrison, he had a way with guitars.

@rebelann No, the song we're working on is sort of Western Swing. But I'm looking for a picture to go with certain lyrics. Overall, there will be lots of chickens, cows, and kids.

I'm curious, @JudyEv, would you have recognized the group from seeing that album cover or the photo pony posted here in his comment to you? If you would recognize them would you have gotten a connection from them to the song lyrics pony posted in the discussion starter? (I wouldn't have recognized them or caught the connection. I'm curious how many others will catch the connection.) Thanks.

@MaiStriketArt I hope your friends enjoy the Mark Twain song. Do people in your Country read Mark Twain? This one is more generic, but has become my most viewed video:

Oh, thank you! You're talking about Susy, right? I had written the lyrics (I actually researched this one) and wasn't sure what melody to go with. So I went with blues and a bridge.

Just one question about the picture - is there a copyright on it, or is it public domain. You can't just use any picture. What about one of your own? I love the song.

I use mostly my own. Or ones others (mostly friends) have taken of me and/or our bands. If David Crosby calls and says "Hey, you used our picture!" I'll invite him over for some jammin'. I had to use a bunch of Twain pictures for the Susy. If I get a call from Twain's estate, I'll take 'em down.

@just4him David Crosby? That would be pretty special to me! One of the "older" guys I play with here in California was on an album I listened to a lot in College. Have you heard of a band called "Jefferson Airplane"? He was on a solo album by one of the guys in that band. He's just a regular guy.

Do you remember this album from "hippy days"? I was only a kid when it came out, but it's still one of my favorites.
