Back with my Christmas themed discussions, do you like fruitcake? Fruitcake is one of those things that you love it or hate it..I am kind of in the middle though. I do like it, but it is highly caloric, and honestly, I would rather eat Christmas cookies. I saw a recipe for a Carribbean style fruitcake that looked quite interesting. It's not in the budget this year, but perhaps in years to come I will make one.

I really like fruitcake a lot Snowy. I like it and usually just buy a few small ones at Walmart each year. I would love to make my own sometime. Sounds interesting the Caribbean one.

Yes, I thought it sounded really different! Maybe, I will try to remember to make it next year fingers crossed I won't be so broke. Actually, I don't think I will accept that from myself.

You sound a little like my sister, someone once asked her if she had a sweet tooth, she replied "all 32 of them."

I do like the fruitcake that my sister used to make the best. Lots of rum in it.

If I make it I love it, those you buy I do not but everyone else does. Plus being a fruitcake does help

I'm more of a cookie person too. I've tried homemade fruitcakes that were actually quite good, but the ones in the stores are just too rich for me.

@much2say It was good, but it was not worth the price. It came in a cool tin though and I think it included brandy and honey.

I think I've only tried it once, but I've seen recipes for fruitcake cookies that don't look too bad.

I don't like it, which is surprising, because there's not much I don't like. But I really can't pinpoint why I don't like it. I just know I don't like the taste for some reason.

OH I will check to see if I could find one to ship to you. It's so so good Now the fruit cake American'seat is gross. I hate that with a passion. It's like they took the word sweet and baked it in the cake.Have you ever eaten easter Bun You might like that too. You find it in the Caribbean shops We have it with cheese oh how wonderful. I don't get it now since I won't have anyone to share the eating with me.
