We actually use all of those, and my daughter bought a device that send out a spray of room freshener ever ten minutes or so. I don't like it, because when it goes off it sounds like someone expelling a large breath, and still startles me sometimes.

@cahaya1983 No one understand why it bothers me, so I'm glad to know I'm not the only one in the world that feels this way. I keep hoping it breaks.

I use both air fresheners and candles. I currently have a pumpkin spice candle burning right now. The whole house smells so good!

@Dyvette16 It is a great scent for the season! I want to hurry up and finish burning it so I can switch to my balsam fir candle, which smells like a Christmas tree. Now that's what gets me into the spirit of the Christmas holiday!

You know what, since we dont have extra to buy air freshners or other stuff to frrshen the smell of our house. I use fabric conditioner. I put it on a spray bottle and spray a bit on the sofa and carpet and curtains.
Have you tried it?

I actually use an air freshener in our bedroom, when the windows are all closed as it is always on weekdays when hubby and I are the whole day at our respective jobs. But on weekends, I open two of the windows since they are screened to welcome fresh air.
