In a history-making announcement, Clarence House said Monday that Prince Harry, 33, and his girlfriend, 36-year-old Markle, are engaged and will wed in the spring.
When they do, Markle will be the most atypical royal bride ever, certainly since American two-time divorcée Wallis Simpson nearly rocked the British monarchy off its 1,000-year-old foundations in 1936, when Edward VIII gave up his throne to marry her.
The news comes after the couple made their first appearance together at an official public event — Harry's Invictus Games in Toronto — in September.

@amadeo He's the royal family rebel, who broke the ice around their perfect, aristocratic, snobbish image.
Harry is just himself, not better than anyone else! The thing that makes me smile, his mother Diana was exactly the same way:) She didn't fit in with the goody-two-shoes, because Diana was a humble, caring, loving peron!

Yeah, I was thinking, "didn't one of the kings abdicate to marry a divorcee?" And didn't they have to "certify" that Diana was a virgin before she could marry Prince Charles? Guess times are changing ini ol' Buckingham Palace.....

This is something odd, but anyway congrats to the couple.
I think Edward VIII was forced to resign, and not gave up his throne. And perhaps Charles is also unpopular, if he is skipped, then people will say same thing that it was due to he married a Divorced lady.
Prince Harry isn't going to be King, William V maybe next King.

When they first started dating and showed her picture I did not know who she was and then I watched Suits and got to know her as a actress better and then when they talked about them I knew who she was. I am sad she will not be on Suits anymore and sad if the show does not go on. She was a big part of it and not sure they could replace her or do the show without her. They could talk about her and continue to do it. It is up to them and not me what they decide.
