How come mylot is not secure?

Philippines
November 27, 2017 11:21am CST
Not sure if you notice it but the address bar on my browser states that this site is not secure.. I wonder if my-lot is aware of this. Because I don't want to get a virus from this problem. Looks like I will have a chat with goaskalice again.

It is not 'secure' because this is not an https site, it is only http

Yes, myLot is one of two of my sites like that, and I've wondered about it. But I'm as careful as I can be with the antimalware, antivirus stuff on my computer. Nothing bad has happened so far.

It is merely because the site is http instead of https

Hello @CinnamonGrl as of this morning I decided to scan my computer just in case there are glitches or viruses.

Surfing on a site secured by https does not prevent you in any way to get a virus sent from this site. It is just encrypting the exchanges between your computer and the site. As all the discussions on this site can be read by people anywhere, I do not see what we would get with a secured connection, except that the connection would we slowered by the encrypting process. If you are paranoid, use a vpn, I do not think it is forbidden by the rules.

Hello @topffer I was always curious about it but never actually talk about it until today, is the process of using a VPN easy? well, why worry now when I've been using mylot for a while.

@Letranknight2015 I use VPNs mainly on my Android phone, and, yes, it is relatively easy, depending of the VPN you connect to.
