In the Dark of Night

The leaves from the maple tree in the front of our house drop into our front yard in massive amounts day, after day, after day. My husband has raked those maple leaves every day since the dropping started, and he will have to continue to do that for many more days to come. I think I have a plan to get rid of that daily-dumping of maple leaves the easy way. The plan involves making my way, with great stealth mind you, into our front yard at midnight. I will be dressed from head to toe in black My black-gloved hands will be wrapped around the handle of our black Toro blower/vac. I will oh-so-quietly set the blower/vac to BLOW. I will blow those maple leaves that litter our front yard into the street, the yard of our neighbor across the street, the yard of our neighbor to the left, and the yard of our neighbor to the right. Our myLot friend Arthur called my plan "ninja leaf clearance." Works for me.

You should stay awake the following nights because your neighbours may blow them back!

I will be on alert into the wee hours of the night. If they do begin to blow them back, we have a bigger blower/vac in the garage, and we will do battle.

I was hoping God would blow the leaves from my yard into the yards of neighbors, but it did not.

@amadeo No, we love our neighbors, all of them. I would not blow leaves in their yards, but it sounded like fun to think about doing that.

@Corbin5 it might take a while and a lot of glue - trees would start getting into substance abuse

I will let all know. Most of the people in our neighborhood are retired, so I doubt most would be quick enough or just too tired to catch me in the act.

I will stay up far into the night until the snow falls and catch 'em in the act. I have a bigger blower/vac in the garage. We will do battle.

Good luck. I just hope you've worked this through. Have you checked that your blower is the biggest and strongest in the neighbourhood?

I have. The neighbors to the left, right and front have a lawn service. We do not. We have the necessary lawn equipment, and they do not. I have two blower/vacs, one which has more power than the one in the photo. I am armed, they are not.

Doesn't it make noise to wake the neighbors. If a neighbor sees you could they think that a burglar has appeared at your house to rob you?

I am sure our neighbors would not notice me, but I would not blow leaves in their yards since the neighbors are very nice. It was just fun to think that I could blow those leaves away, but I would not do that. The blower/vac is not that noisy.

@Corbin5 We have so many oak leaves and no oak trees in our yard! Instead, neighbors on both sides have oak trees, ours are all maples.

Our neighborhood is picky, picky, picky. Everyone's lawn is pristine. We need to move to a place where leaves on a lawn are not such a big deal!!
