Do you have to protect your Christmas tree?

Christmas tree

Christmas is coming and perhaps some of you already set up beautiful Christmas trees at home. If you have pets like cats and dogs, perhaps you have to protect your Christmas tree well. Look at this poor dog, he can not even get close to the Christmas tree

This cage can work for dogs, but a cat would be more than happy to climb on it and destroy the tree.

My cat climbs at the top of cabinets, he would have no difficulty here. I do not buy Christmas trees since years, there are enough of these trees in the streets around.

@topffer You cannot stop a cat from climbing and a Christmas tree in a house with a cat is not a good idea.

@LadyDuck It depends of the cat, this one does not like to be told what he should not do.

LOL, love the tree cage concept. I could have used that in the past. Don't need one now, we don't have cats or dogs. I have the cockatiel with me on my shoulder a lot, but she hasn't seemed tempted to get on the Christmas tree for whatever reason. The first Christmas she was here, I thought she might want to perch on it, but she shows no signs.

Very nice to have cockatiel on your shoulder. She seems to have a well training.

I never protected my Christmas tree and at one time I had four cats and one dog.

Our dogs never bothered the Christmas tree, but our cat Missy topped the tree several times. We finally wired the tree to the hardware on the front window to keep Missy from knocking it down.

I imagine how nice it could be if your dog could guard the Christmas tree in case your cat wanted to climb on it

We have a tabletop tree so the dog can't get to it.

This is cute. We don't put up a "fence" to protect our Christmas tree. Our dogs don't stay inside the house.

I guess that at some stage that dog has destroyed the tree.

I have a little desktop fiber optic tree. Lily, my black cat, has messed with it, but I do tell her no and she stops.

We let our Christmas tree stand alone without any protection. Our cat is well behaved. He just stares at the Christmas tree. We're lucky. We don't have dogs.
